DOJ ends Obama and Holder's Shadowy Slush Fund..

The Justice Department announced Wednesday it will no longer allow prosecutors to strike settlement agreements with big companies directing them to make payouts to outside groups, ending an Obama-era practice that Republicans decried as a “slush fund” that padded the accounts of liberal interest groups.
That such a policy was ever in place is extraordinary. To recap: Under Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, the Justice Department regularly designed legal settlements in which well-heeled defendants were encouraged (read: forced) to donate money to third parties with no legal connection to the case being adjudicated.

National Urban League, National Council of LaRaza, gonna be losing some big $$$
If people have issues with this, how would you feel if Trump / Sessions just changed where the money went from National Urban League to say the National Rifle Association, or Right to Life, or any other conservative group. Would you still be so willing for a slush fund?

Absolutely no organization should be getting money for the government

Only Democrats could get away with this without a peep from the MSM.

I would hope everyone here would see this as a positive move. I never saw much in the way of defending this shady practice.

Truly pathetic that this was going on and absolutely no one knew anything about it. How was this not a huge story?
The Obama Justice Department was shaking down corporations and forcing them to donate to Left Wing groups.
How could anyone not see this for what it was. Imagine if Trump was the one who started this policy. What would the reaction be at MSNBC and CNN?

It has come up on this board a few times over the years. It never gained traction because there wasn't much disagreement. So either everyone thought it was shitty, or the ones who didn't stayed away for not having a solid argument for it.

They should mandate the fines go directly to paying down the national debt, that's the only way we'll make any progress on it.

All of the wasted money that could have gone to help people in the housing crisis went to dem slush funds via Julian Castro @ HUD. And where is that money now? HRC said the DNC is broke.

That's what I've noticed many doing.. instead of coming out and denouncing something that is bad even within their own party, they just don't say anything, which I take as tacit approval.

They must have realized this would have been an opportunity for Trump to fund his wall.

The reason why the Globalist Left has gone Psychotic Rage Trump Derangement Syndrome is directly related to the BILLIONS of dollars that they will lose because we now have an Honest POTUS who wants what's best for the national interests of the USA.
Trump will shut down the Trillion Dollar Globalist Gravy Train unless he's destroyed.

why you think libs were so pissed Pruitt was to head EPA... they had a great scam going of making companies "pay" huge fines not to the government, rather to liberal non profitts

How can Lynch and Holder continue to escape prosecution for things like this? Instead, the media is more worried about Trump getting 2 scoops of ice cream!
