Does this C.S. Lewis quote capture the current state of the Dems? (Not a religion thread)

Saw this quote today, and it seemed fitting.
quote:
The most dangerous thing you can do is to take any one impulse of your own nature and set it up as the thing you ought to follow at all costs. There is not one of them which will not make us into devils if we set up as an absolute guide. You might think love of humanity in general was safe, but it is not. If you leave out justice you will find yourself breaking agreements and faking evidence in trials 'for the sake of humanity', and become in the end a cruel and treacherous man.

Perfect summation of both sides in many respects.

Liberals don't think. They just feel and because of that they have no credibility or ability to make rational decisions.

I would agree, depending on the circumstances. The "love of humanity" part just made me think it particularly apt for liberals and progressives at the moment, because that seems to be their rallying call.

Pretty spot on... love some CS Lewis.
I think anytime you chase impulse, or the newest hot button issue, you lose any and all sense of direction , because you are always chasing the new direction.
I honestly can't follow the DNC direction, because it changes almost daily. Whether it's fighting against Russia, blaming others for being racist, bigot, xenophobic, etc, pandering to minority groups, immigration, or chose any other of the list, they gain one group, but lose out on another.
Not that the GOP have any real direction of distinction, but being "Not the DNC, not Hillary, not Obama" seems to be enough she you champion it with "drain the swamp" and fighting against the status quo.
At some point it will swing back in sure, but hopefully by that time, they have alienated enough groups, or pandered to too many, that all they do is fight against each other. They are trying to combine 4-5 separate groups into 1 voting block. It will never work.

Very eloquent way to say that people should not be ruled by their emotions. C. S. Lewis was great.
