If I get too invested, I begin to let it take over my life and my frustration with Libs starts to border on hatred. Sometimes I have to take a couple days and just focus completely on work to stop it from interfering in my daily life when it comes to interactions with Lefty's. These people hate us with every fiber of their being, but we have to put on a smile and put up with their bullshite because we are reasonable people who respect others. I wish the rules applied to both sides.

See a therapist. I do. It keeps me calm and even keeled.

I don't mean literally crazy, politics is just a very deep rabbit hole.

I try to or my wife gives me the business. But the last 2-3 years I've come to the conclusion that we're without question in a war for the soul of the country against progressivism so I don't get much time to unplug from politics, it's a war baw! :usa: :usa: :usa:

When I went on vacation for 2 weeks in June I completely did and felt much less stress. Football season will also lessen my interests in politics.

I've actually been somewhat disconnected from politics by choice starting around Obama's 2nd term. I voted for anti-HIllary and read this board some, but have mostly stayed away from the news completely. It's been nice

Most staunch conservatives are pretty secure in their beliefs and of strong will/mind. I would never rule out seeing a therapist but so far it's not been needed.

All you can do is vote, get your friends and family to vote, and donate money to good candidates and causes.

The rest is sadly out of our control.

Do your part to do good, and if the world burns, it burns.

Lately, the country makes me feel like a husband must feel when he finds out his wife is regularly pulling a train with a group of bikers.

I just want to turn everything off and go into a place of disbelief at how bad things are. The reality at how deeply divided we are and how the Obama presidency fanned and stoked the fires of racism is leaving me feeling there's little hope for consensus on anything anymore, so, yes... I take breaks. Example: I still have not read or heard the statements President Trump made that has everyone running around in circles, hands flailing in the air like a giant balloon man in front of a used car dealer, all the while screaming, "Oh...My...God!!!" I will, eventually, but I just need a break from it all, sometimes.

Oh, i dont see one over politics. Or for anything in particular for that matter, just to keep myself at peace and unload some stress.

I do. I had actually been on one for a while until the recent unrest.

My venting is almost complete so I'll be returning to a more peaceful politics free existence soon.

I stayed away from this board a few days ago when all the crap went down in VA. It was kinda nice.

Here is where you people lose me; you all sound so put-upon, like it's you against the world-- yet YOUR GUY WON!!! You should be ecstatic, your world view was victorious in November! Of course not everyone is going to like it, or agree with you all the time.. It's people like me, who cant stand the a-hole Trump, who should be whining-- yet you all sound so miserable.. Suck it up, Buttercup.

All the time.

But then some jizznugget says something like, because we count age from your birth, that is when aging starts.

And I come out of retirement.

Montana archery season starts Sept 2. I can't wait to take a break from everything. If you need me after Sept 2, I'll be asleep under a tree. Holla
