Do you have friends who now claim the vaccine was never supposed to stop the spread?

I've got a few friends who were ardently pro-vaccine and called me a selfish piece of shite for not getting it as I was contributing to the spread. I pointed out that it was clearly stated during the development that it wasn't supposed to stop transmission and was only a personal therapeutic.

We fought for months over this, and when I asked for proof it stopped the spread they just repeated that the experts said so (just like with masks). I haven't reignited the fight yet with all the new info, but probably will next week.

Anyone get the chance to bring this up with your misinformed friends yet?

Yes. The narrative shifted last year when the vax’d starting getting covid again. They know Im not forgetting how stupid they were.

Thankfully I have zero friends or family members who have dedicated every aspect of their lives to obediently serving our government, so no.

It was pretty clear early on that the vaccine wasn't stopping the spread.
From the early "breakthrough" cases, to no discernable differences among highly vaccinated locales versus lower vaccinated locales, it should have been obvious, but this shite Administration wasn't having any facts. Just in bed with big Pharma.

(1) It clearly has not stopped the spread, though it may have impacted spread of the more virulent early variants.
(2) I don't recall anyone from a government agency stating the CV19 Vax was not supposed to stop the spread. My recollection is just the opposite.
(3) I'd consider unfriending those folks.

Can you cite your source.

Propaganda: This is a pandemic of the un-vaccinated.

Reality: This pandemic was lengthened by the vaccinated.

Your point is a good one. Stopping the spread was the sole reason for demonizing non-vaxers.

However, one thing you are missing is that the vaccines did a fair job of stopping the spread of the original variants. They were about 95% effective after four months, and declined about 10% per month for the next five or six months, eventually being rather ineffective (thus the reason for the booster). As new variants appeared, it became less and less effective.

While I was strictly on team no-mandates, I think you are using shifted goal posts to judge the vaccine maniacs. It is not how the vaccines currently perform, but how they performed against alpha in 2021 that is germane.

Here is a clip of the town hall where Biden says if you have the vaccines you wont get covid
someone from a government agency stating that if you get the vaccine you will not get covid

Right. That was the yarn. Obviously the corollary was, if everyone got the vax, it WOULD stop the spread.

That's why I was interested in the OP citing his source.

This was early talk when it was still in the development stage. When people were talking about how the "vaccines" would work, it was readily printed that what was in the works would still allow you to get it / spread it, you'd just have a better outcome. This information was completely scrubbed from the internet at some point, but before it became political and as just people talking this was widely known.

This has become the de facto, mic-drop fallback, which completely contradicts the reasoning for forced vaxxes.

Medical journals don't get scrubbed. I was also an investor in Moderna. Followed it pretty closely. In 2020, if someone in the government-medical bureaucracy had suggested the vax would be ineffective at stopping the spread, I suspect they'd have been silenced with quickness.

Now in 2021, after the vax was demonstrated to be 'leaky', the story 'evolved'. Perhaps that's what you're remembering?
