100%

The fact that they called out a cartoon frog is evidence enough.

That was another dumb decision of the Clinton campaign.

yes and no

NO - cartoons and snarky jokes was not the difference and Hillary was so bad she may lose anyway

YES - the marginalization of the left's perpetual "victimhood" and of standard leftist propaganda was certainly helpful

This is what's so funny. I know they do it for the lulz but there were several self discrediting pieces done by outlets and activists groups also made themselves look retarded

I believe it solidified the right (minus neverf*ckers) and swayed a few of the middle/left who thought that calling a cartoon frog "racist" was not in the best interest for a super power

You goddamn know it did.

It showed the left and the media for what they are.

It opened the eyes of many normies.

Honestly if you look back in history you can see that meme magic is very prevalent in the bible. Jesus used meme magic to feed the 5000 for instance. By all accounts meme magic is a Christian principle

We all know that democrats worship the devil and use human sacrifice and blood magic, so the 2016 election was just another battle of the light vs darkness and trump and Jesus beat Hillary and the devil

Yah I think it re-ignited the passions of the Trump-supporting millennials and Gen-Z'ers at a time when the election was getting a little bit tedious.

Did it have an impact on myself? No

I can see how it can have an impact on a group of voters though. What size is that group? I don't know.

Yes. My shitposting here did more to help TRUMP win in Louisiana and across the South than my one vote did.

Not a particular group but it was hysterical when Hillary was denouncing a cartoon frog

The media had to leap to her defense with convoluted explanations of kekistan and Pepe

Which made her and the media look like complete lunatics to normal people

Yes, and it hurt them. Most Americans do not follow politics. Imagine being an independent voter not sure who you are voting for, and you see Hillary Clinton complaining about a cartoon frog that is racist.

Ironically it would have helped her more if she didn't bring any attention to it.

I don't think it won over new voters to the conservative cause, but I think it insulated that side from the usual leftist hysteria that keeps them cowed in the media.

Meme magic was next gen Alinsky tactics.

quote:

Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy." Look for ways to increase insecurity, anx

The Clinton camp had zero expertise in meme warfare.

quote:

Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

Anyone doubt that memes and cartoon frogs were used to mercilessly ridicule Hillary?

quote:

"A good tactic is one your people enjoy."

I know I enjoyed the shite out of the meme warfare.

quote:

Keep the pressure on. Never let up

The great meme war continues on.

quote:

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Pretty much sums up the entire election and meme warfare that was employed against her.

There are quite a few more rules but these are just some quick highlights. Feel free to expand upon them.

Absolutely. The memes generated were hilarious and many proved a concrete point through visuals and few words.

Let's be honest...most Americans are stupid with short attention spans. Memes are a great way to reach those types and through creativity make them popular and fun and people always want to be on the popular and fun side.
