i never understood the fetishization of undeveloped, "native' cultures

like if you're a legit hippie (which my parents were and is how i was exposed to this stuff a LONG time ago), then you can have an argument, especially if you legit live that life (which some people do)

if you're some urbanite prog who uses technology then it literally makes no sense whatsoever

Agreed. There are positives to living that kind of lifestyle, but living off the land is not an easy life, and not one that is realistic or even feasible for longer than a weekend for 99% of Americans.

Agreed. It's all about virtue signalling. Progressives mostly all have one thing in common: they were weird kids in high school who were picked on. They see themselves as victims and the underdogs in life, and thus have a natural affinity for underdogs and victims.

However, where progressives and every other socially awkward kid splits off is in what those adolescent struggles push them to do.

Normal people learn to either change themselves or take pride in themselves. If they're made fun of for being fat or creepy, they lose weight and learn some social skills. They figure out what about them is good and get better, and what needs improvement and fix it or at least grow thicker skin.

Progressives see themselves as victims of irrational oppression. Rather than believe that there is a problem with themselves that maybe should be corrected to help rise above the torment, they believe the problem lies with EVERYONE ELSE. They are driven to destroy anyone and everyone who either tormented them or did nothing, and everyone who tormented anyone ever. Or anyone who did anything even remotely inconveniencing a "victim". They don't conceptualize their drive any deeper than this as it is purely emotional.

Those kids weren't calling her fat because she's unhealthy, but because they're privileged sh&tlords. She doesn't need to lay off the twinkies and learn to use a treadmill, THEY need to change their evil attitudes. Those girls aren't calling me a creep because I have weird mannerisms say inappropriate things. No, they're EVIL privileged monsters from whom I am entitled sex because I was nice to them! They're slut-shaming me by calling me a whore! I shouldn't stop having unprotected sex, THEY need to change their hateful attitudes towards me and my 3 children from different fathers!

Normal people, when met with adversity, blame themselves and drive themselves to overcome adversity. They learn from it and rise above it.

Progressives, when met with adversity, blame everyone else, and seek vengeance from adversity. They don't rise above it, but rather drag everyone down to their level out of pettiness.
