"he 5 pm Bret Baer hour is the best hard news on television."

So true and I only recently discovered this as I don't typically get home until it's over. I'm not one to DVR but perhaps I should. I do sometimes get to catch a little of it on XM and I realized that Baier (with perhaps a bit of a righty slant) is doing what CNN used to do years ago: actually report the news.

We;re sorry. We ddin't realize you were going to move the goalposts. here is what you said:

CNN will retract when necessary and will fire people for fricking up.

FOX has retracted, and they have certainly fired people when they messed up, have they not?

And, by the way....it took two screw ups to get Eric Lichtblau fired, so lets not pretend CNN keeps a short leash.

Seriously?

You really think Benghazi is a fake made up story?

I think what he means is......CNN would fire people for getting at any truth that doesn't favor the left.

The power of the House is the ability to investigate and subpoena by the the party in charge. You have an ability to win news cycles off of that power alone.

CNN didn't used to be this bad though.

When did they turn into MSNBC?

Not gonna argue your perception of CNN, but if you think segments of Fox News were not activist against Obama then I don't know what to tell you.

Fox was overwhelmingly against Obama from a reporting perspective. There's no doubt about that. However, I never felt like they'd become field agents of the Republican Party like CNN has with the Democrats. You have reporters who have essentially become political operatives to take down Donald Trump. Fox' behavior towards Trump never progressed from words into action like it has for CNN.

No one at Fox News created the birther movement and some of the more prominent anchors at the time (O'Reilly) outright dismissed it.

The Benghazi thing was also not created news. There is a still an argument that can reasonably put forward today that the US did not act in a way that offered the most protection to our assets in Benghazi. Again, Fox' stance that we bungled Benghazi is not creating news.

What CNN is doing is different in that instead of running with the stories of others or massaging the facts in their favor, they are outright creating new narratives some of which are blatantly false.

Several either promoted it themselves, or allowed guests on their show to promote it unchallenged. Here are several linked examples.

You think it really justified the attention Fox and Republicans gave it?

Embassy staff died under Bush, where was the outcry then?

As mentioned earlier, running with someone else's story or massaging the facts in your favor =/= making up hit pieces to take down a sitting President and accusing him of being mentally insane.

I was listening to both Fox and MSNBC this morning. While discussing Trump and Putin's impending meeting, MSNBC was stating that Putin was extremely and thoroughly prepared, payed very close attention to details, etc. They stated Trump gets his information from the TV and likes all of his information in bullet points and on one single page.
The interviewee countered with that simply not being true. She said Putin likes his 14-point font, "meat and potatoes" information and also gets a great deal of information from TV - in particular his own station.

I flipped to Fox. It of course, had a pro-Trump spin, but at least it was tapered down and they discussed Trump's flaws as well.

A recent Harvard study indicates a 52% negative reporting toward Trump for Fox News and 93% negative reporting by CNN. So Fox News is actually pretty "fair and balanced" according to this study and pretty centrist...not hard right.

Don't think so. CNN is not much more extreme than FOX, if any.

If the WSJ, which is centrist right leaning, was at 30, Fox was 18 points more positive than the WSJ. CNN was 23 points more negative than the WSJ.

The problem with your reasoning is assuming that a neutral position would be 50%, when the numbers show that a neutral position would probably be a little more negative than WSJ. If you put that neutral position number at 28, FOX and CNN are basically equally far apart from neutral.

Saying FOX is fair and balanced is not supported by the Harvard study, and is a rather large leap of bias.

I Absolutely think it deserved 10 times the coverage by not only Fox but all of the MSM(It got none by all of the rest of MSM)

Because the Obama administration not only lied about it, they did nothing to help them

Let us never forget that the only reason they were still there was to sell arms illegally supporting the over through of Ghadafi which directly funded Jihadists groups and further destabilized the Middle East.
(Ghadafi had even given up his support of terrorists over 30 years early when he got his arse kicked by Reagan back in the 80s and changed course to become an ally to the US)

Of course you are too damn stupid to ever understand or to blind/biased to admit the truth of what was really happening

The POS you voted for actually supported the crimes against humanity inflicted in Libya because she wanted to use it as a Plus of why she should be President. It is amazing that any thinking person could support her after the shite show she created.

Unlike you I actually lived through these times, and actually was involved in actions that changed Libya from being a Terrorist supporter to a nation that stayed out of it while I was in the NAVY

I will not respond to any further idiocy by you on this and tell you that you can suck my (not overly long but very thick) dick
