Never forget the left wing mantra from back then "Better Red Than Dead". They claimed they would have preferred to live under communist rule than be killed in war but in reality they just wanted to be communists. In that sense not much has changed really

Do you remember the 1980's made for TV movie called "The Day After" which aired in 1984, an election year, showed the nuclear destruction of the United States, and imitated Reagan's voice in a post apocalypse radio broadcast scene?
It has since been edited to make that voice sound less like Reagan.
