Did Donald Trump tell Michael Flynn to make contact with the Russians?

And mention sanctions? It's becoming obvious that Flynn lied to Pence. The BIG question now is when did Trump know? It's hard to imagine Flynn initiating this on his own .

Flynn already had his own established Russian associations from his time in the IC and beyond. The subject of the alleged call in question was one such individual.
It's perfectly conceivable that he acted alone and equally conceivable that he didn't. No way for the public to know at this point.

It's possible that instead of firing him, Trump is going to try and stake out a middle ground here and demote Flynn to deputy or some other post because he really likes him and values loyalty as he's one of the OGs of the Trump campaign when nobody gave him a chance.
