The question:

“I have multiple sclerosis but could not afford insurance. Without the treatment or medications I need, I had problems with walking, with my speech and my vision.

“When the Affordable Care Act was passed, I moved from our home state of Texas because they refused to expand Medicaid, to Maryland and within two weeks I started receiving treatments through Medicaid and am now well enough to work as a substitute teacher.

“Sen. Cruz, can you promise me that you and the Republican leaders in Congress will actually have a replacement plan in place for people like me who depend on their medicaid? In other words, I like my coverage, can I keep it?

Isn't it normal to vet questions in these situations? They don't just hand people a mic and let people say whatever they want.

If they're so concerned about it, don't you think they'd remember their own question to be posed? I'd think so.

People get nervous when they speak in public.

My guess is the questions are submitted, tweaked and approved. The only thing sketchy, to me, is if they make a habit of adding to/rewriting proposed questions to slant in a certain direction (which I'm sure occurs or has occurred).

There is always and excuse and walk on by that occurs after these incidents are brought forth.

See above for example.... CNN has gmail stationary just for such an occasion.

Yet Jake Tapper hammered KAC trying to appear like a professional. It is a joke.

Or the lady asking the question printed it off from her Gmail account.

The question was tweaked by CNN. It happens in every Town Hall. Usually the participants are given a little head's up on the questions as well, but not always. There's not always a huge conspiracy. It'be entertaining to see random people go up there and just ask whatever's on their mind, but it would quickly go off the rails.

I will print one out so we can compare.

It shows the logo but does not prove it did not come from CNN or her.

I thought this should be the format for such an event.

I hate CNN too but...

They probably had a submission period for questions that could be presented live to the debate participants. The submission form likely required some basic information, name, email address, etc. After choosing her submission, CNN likely contacted her with an email titled "Your Question" with a tweaked version of the same question to present to the participants. She probably printed it off her email so she could reference it in case she got stage fright. Nothing to see here I'm afraid.

Is it possible she sent 20 questions and they chose one and said this is "your question?"

That is assumption but given we have no other info it is plausible.
