Wife's dumb cousin brought it up. He was open to Trump once he found out he was going to be elected, but now with all the racists he is picking for his cabinet, he can't look the other way. I chose not to engage.

Side note, wife's dad showed me what a beta bitch I am, yet again. We went out Black Friday shopping for 3 hours with the wife and kids and by the time we got back he had bought/wired/installed a ceiling fan and light in the guest room we are sleeping in. Alpha mother fricker...

My Trumpkin sister got super pissed when my brothers kid kept telling his cousins, her daughters, to 'just grab them by the pussy.'

Basically everyone in our family works 50+ hours a week and most have advanced degrees. We don't talk politics often but we did make fun of SJWs and the protesters yesterday.

I did have a progressive nephew who is a craft beer aficionado who brews beer with his father (my brother)name a beer after me....., called it Uncle Lester's Coffee Stout, he said "the beer you need to slam when Uncle Lester won't get off his political soap box".

Name one after him. Call it "Hip-Stirred Tears: For when all this winning makes you thirsty. The sweet melt of northwestern origin, 50 years of melt in every bottle".

No but I made sure the most liberal family member left with a "MAGA" bumper sticker and the most conservative left with a "Hillary for America" sticker. I can't wait to see how long it takes them to notice.

Actually the least political Thanksgiving ever. I think many on both sides didn't really like their choices anyway so there are other things more pertinent to talk about.

No problem at all.

I said before you start this is my house and it is my food.

If you don't like being here you know where the door is.

The strangest part at my house was when my gay brother announced he would be sent to an internment camp. We all just looked at him in disbelief. This is a really smart guy. How can they believe this stuff?

You dont even realize that you are so annoying, people around you need to drink in order to make you bearable to them.

Stupid doesn't know they're stupid.

If you read the OP with moderate comprehension you would have noted that only my nephew was slightly triggered, so triggered he named a home brew after his dear uncle Leaster. Regardless of politics we're pretty close and share the appreciation of finely crafted beers and cigars....., did I trigger you?

Baby Boomer? If so he was raised by the Depression era generation where you had to know how to fix shite, build shite and make shite. I just finished tearing off my old deck and built a 14ft x 20ft deck......, baby boomer bruh!

That's funny, I was thinking "Butthurt Ale" It's a little funky, slightly raw but pleasingly pungent.

Did anyone have a Thanksgiving day Prog/Lib melt from family or friends?

Not from family or friends. We were all of like minds.

We left for our annual Thanksgiving/family reunions 5 1/2 hour trek over to Vernon Fl. Wednesday. Arrived at the motel in Chipley at around 6:30, got checked in and settled down for the night. Turned the TV on to catch some FOX News before retiring for the night, as I had done the previous 20 years of staying there. To my surprise, no FOX.

I went down to inquire what the matter was. The Desk Clerk, sheepishly rolled her eyes and smiled, while telling me the owners (not Dot nor Feathers but some other breed of sand dwellers) pitched a hissy fit and had FOX removed from the channel listing the day after the election.

It did my heart proud to know this past election could cause such a melt.

If this was not true it would just be a funny story but since I believe you it's just sad, the first rule of melting is to not let other people know you're melting.

The worst thing one can do is drag politics into family.

It's all true brother. The owners are children of the sand of another continent. She told me he/they were very upset.
