The Department of Homeland Security is considering forcefully separating adults and children who are apprehended illegally crossing the border together, Reuters reported Friday.

The report, attributed to three unnamed U.S. government officials, said part of the reason for separating children from the adults who cross with them was to discourage illegal family crossings.

Under such a policy, parents could be kept in custody while they await deportation, while the children would be kept under protective Department of Health and Human Services custody.

Prolonged detention of children is currently barred under a federal appeals court ruling, reported Reuters.

This is going better than I could of hoped for...

NO,no,no, don't do that. The Democrats/Socialists/Obamas will have an issue. The USA could stop illegal immigration if they would not give them Food Stamps. Only Americans should get $600 a month in food stamps. The taxpayers pay for it.

Parents who subject their children to any dangerous criminal enterprise such as infiltration illegally into a foreign country are not fit to be parents. As with ALL children of unfit parents, such children should be taken into foster custody of the State while the unfit parents are deported.

I mean it's pretty predictable that Trump wants to tear children away from their mothers.

Why do they get to cut in line in front of people doing it right? I love immigration and diversity. We should have a say in who comes into the country legally.

even more separation than from the families they left behind in Mexico, when they originally left their home country?

interesting

perhaps they will all be returned to the families they left behind in Mexico originally and all will be right with the world
