The Advocate
quote:

Desiree Charbonnet hasn't done much public campaigning in the weeks since she announced her mayoral bid, but it's clear now she has been doing plenty behind the scenes, building a war chest that so far dwarfs most of her competitors.

Disclosure forms due Monday from the candidates vying for the top job at City Hall revealed that Charbonnet, who left the Municipal Court bench to run, raised a whopping $869,000 in the two months after her campaign’s launch in May.

LaToya Cantrell, the City Council member seen by some as Charbonnet’s chief competitor, took in less than a fifth of that amount — $151,300 — over roughly the same period.

Michael Bagneris, a former judge making his second run for mayor, raised only $97,125 in donations, while also loaning himself $100,000.

Local businessman Frank Scurlock boasted the second-largest campaign account, $626,700, but had lent himself the full amount.

Someone better step the frick up, but it's NOLA, so another retard is almost guaranteed the position.

It's going to be a far left wing Dem either way. Nola is around 70% black and they vote Dem at about 95%.

60% black. But yes, only a democrat will win mayor in New Orleans.

White flight to Livingston and Ascension parish has pretty much ensured BR will keep electing SWB types too. South BR and the northern parts of the parish aren't enough to offset the people that left EBRP or the state altogether

Charbonnet would be a million times better than Cantrell. If those are the only two realistic options, you better PRAY it's not Cantrell.

I hope NOLA gets a mayor even more radical than the mayor of Jackson.

An excerpt from someone who "gets it"

"Mitch Landrieu is just following orders in regards to the monument removal/stand down on crime/red light cameras etc.....his handler/boss WALT ISAACSON (Trilateral commission member, head of Aspen Institute, ex head of CNN, member of CFR) calls the shots.....he was main "private donor" for 4 monument removal plan.....Mayor Landrieu is getting orders to look other way on crime as well.....they could have put a cap on this long ago but now they are using the crime to clear out the few remaining (cause there ain't many left) resistors in the city to Isaacson's "Agenda 21 sustainable city/resilient city pre fab chain restaurant/stores red light cam on every corner" blueprint they have in mind for the upcoming tricentennial (the boycott alot of people are mentioning post monument removal only helps their cause!)

More small businesses/mom n pops will close up and Walt can usher in even more chain restaurants/businesses for his cronies (they just opened Dave n' Busters on Poydras....Waffle Houses up & down canal.....Sephora jewelry store in FQ.....you do the math)

These globalists did same thing in Detroit.....let crime get out of control ON PURPOSE.....scare the good folks out of town.....houses foreclose.....businesses shutter.....globalists like Isaacson redesign what's left behind.....buy up blocks n blocks of Detroit.....a decade later they pull it all back up....put a cap on crime.....resell same land to one's who left lol (for 30 times the price they bought it for when price was face down in the gutter)

this is plan for Nola, Baltimore, St. Louis, etc now......if you notice though Detroit crime is way down now in 2017....becoming a "cool hip place" to live again (hmm I wonder how that happened)"

Desiree is just next in line.

Yep. As someone who's had to work pretty closely with both, Cantrell is not in Charbonnet's league.

So what's the knock on Desiree other than being a democrat?

Can she do a half way decent job of running the city and not be a corrupt dumbass?
I know nothing about her.
