Thank you, Governor,
quote:

"At my direction, state agencies including law enforcement and the Florida National Guard are being deployed to Texas, with assets including personnel, boats and planes. While Biden ignores the crisis he created, Florida stands ready to help Texas respond to this crisis," he said

Fox News

This isn’t me jumping on any sort of pro-DeSantis/anti-Trump bandwagon—I couldn’t care less about that squabble.
As far as I’m concerned, Trump and DeSantis are one and the same.
This country is toast, regardless of which gentleman heads the GOP ticket.

But I’m damn grateful to the Florida governor for his help.
It’s a shite ton more than fedgov is doing.
I think I speak on behalf of many Texans when I say: We’re grateful.
quote:

"We've also, as a state, from really the beginning of the Biden administration been leaning in on the issue, including helping Texas in the past, and we've offered a number of assets, boats, planes and personnel to help now. And so we stand by ready to help with that because I think what you're seeing is going to be really, really bad, potentially very shortly," he said.

Republican Governors need to work together to solve issues that Biden has no interest in solving.

Screw all the “Republicans for JBE.”

Louisiana should be sending support, too.

The problem is that the Democratic sycophants in the state houses in Sacramento, Phoenix, and Santa Fe won't accept that help.

Helping Texas is great for Texas, and certainly dents the problem, but there cannot be a real fix as long as half the border remains purposefully wide-arse open.

Could it be DeSantis/Abbott 2024? Abbott is very good at following everything DeSantis does.

its certainly needed, but how is that even legal?

its done all the time for temporary sudden emergencies like hurricanes and such, but routine border enforcement isnt for temporary sudden emergencies, it would need to be a long term permanent thing.

just seems like a gov using state funds and resources to benefit other states, wouldnt be allowed like this, especially when its clearly a political stunt

Yup and the more they band together, the more this story gets covered by the MSM (other than FOX) and that is a good thing for conservatives because, believe it or not, there are plenty of democratic voters who don't want to see this invasion continue.

political stunt

what makes it 'political' ?? other than those that oppose it are all POLITICALLY MOTIVATED

Seems like this can be supported due to appeal to the LAW OF THE LAND
and the obvious EMERGENCY is presents to EVERY STATE OF THE UNION
and the WILL OF THE PEOPLE to HELP a state suffering from a DISASTER.

what is wrong with that - and how is it 'political' ???

other than one polemical party is ANTI-constitution and commons sense???

the process, he did it as a political matter to increase his polling numbers

this is florida taxpayers money, resources, and reduces local law enforment strength in his state.

that is something that must be voted on and done through the florida legislature to be approved and not something to just do unilaterally on his own.

i agree with the idea, but there is a right way and a wrong way to do something like this, and this isnt the right way to do it.

if you approve of him doing this then you also must approve it if tomorrow he decides he is sending millions florida taxpayers money to ukraine. both actions are equally outside his scope of authority to decide on his own

Exactly what Texans face daily.
Our treasure and people have protected the federal border for decades.
And few people care about what it costs.

I fully understand the frustration some Floridians may feel over this move by DeSantis.
But for selfish reasons—to say nothing of feeling like someone is willing to help—I’m appreciative.

Zero. It has zero impact. It’s for his “not” a campaign.

You sycophant lunatics will rage against anything.

He’s done this before, long before he was running or considering running.

You could try and give him credit for doing something good.

Honest question, but what exactly are they going to do there? Border enforcement is under the federal government, not state.

i fully support the idea too, yall definitely need some help in any form it can come in.

my only issue is this needs to be done the right way, because its not just for the weekend or for a week, this shite isnt going away and all southern state legislatures need to pass something to send help to deal with our border situation.

but it needs to be done the right way when using taxpayer money and resources

No clue.
I’m not the person to ask.
But I’d imagine—if nothing else—it aids morale, helping the current folks who are down there busting arse to protect the federal border feel like they’re not alone in this war.
They’ve been abandoned by their country; at least some states are willing to help.

Too bad our Lone Star flag isn’t comprised of a solid blue and solid yellow horizontal band.
Our defense would be priority, were that the case.
