If one team has no rules or standards then the other team is forced to eventually play somewhat the same way. The republicans would face total loss if they don't play the game somewhat like the democrats. Republicans don't need to riot and cause violence in the street like democrats; however, they don't need to constantly treat the democrats in congress like they are acting in good faith when we all know they aren't.
It is the same problem we are having economically with many other countries in the world.
