I was at a neighborhood party this weekend and was one of my neighbors who I know is a loyal Democrat said he was going to stop voting for Democrats. He was fed up with the party elites kowtowing to all these "gross and moronic" groups that are the face of the Democrats at the moment. He meant groups like Antifa, LBGT groups, and any other PC groups that focus on identity politics and intend to punish or shut down anybody who disagrees with them.

To paraphrase him, he said that the Democrats need to lose elections until they can start ignoring the radical fringe PC groups in their party and start focusing on common sense issues that matter to the majority of Americans.

He can't stand Trump, but he hates the people who have hijacked the Democrat Party even more.

Does anybody here feel the same way, or know anybody who does?

The party has been this way undercover for a long time. After 8 years of their utopia, they were finally confident in showing who they are outright. Soon they will start masking their true colors again.

The Democrats have allowed their party to be completely taken over by radicals. There are very few moderate Democrats in office. Until the sane Dems can regain control they will continue to lose elections.

My few Democrat friends don't care to talk about it. However, I may get an earful in a couple weeks when I visit a few of my California resident friends. It sometimes gets ugly among 8 old LSU grads and alcohol. Some have lived in Cantaffordya to long.

Umm yes. You pretty much described me completely. I fricking hate Trump and think he's a complete goon, but I still can't bring myself to say I wish HRC was president. Which is pathetic.

basically

after the 2010 midterms, the moderates lost and the DEM party said "we don't need moderates. we need to go full on progressive"

like i said yesterday, if you go on DU, you'll see an obsession with DU posters seeking to "primary" any DEM politician who doesn't support the full ideology. they were plotting it out (in their heads) when a handful of DEM Senators didn't vote to filibusterer Gorsuch. they completely ignore the political reality of why those Senators had to be given the cover of voting how they did and just see behavior violating the ideology

I could be wrong, but I never thought that Hildabeast was truly as left-wing as she was pretending to be during the 2015-2016 election cycle. I think she simply knew that she had to cater to the extremist element of the Democrat Party.

I think you'll find that many dems are angry that the fringe (Bernie) was shafted by the establishment in underhanded ways. See Brazille and fricking superdelegates.

They are far far from learning their lesson. It's going to take years of being "also rans" before they get the message.

In what way is Antifa a face of the Democratic Party, it's like saying Richard Spencer is the intellectual heart of the GOP.

I don't think they know how to start applying the brakes on their out of control dogma and political tactics they've been able to get away with for the last decade. They've been able to force people to cower and back down with micro aggressions and transphobia claims but people are getting sick of it. They're even turning on those that were considered very left wing just 15 years ago.

That's exactly the drum the media has been beating.

That's ridiculous. Some of us live in places that are dominated by loyal Democrats. It doesn't mean that they're bad people.

Can't stand Pelousy or Schmuck Chumer, and most of what the Democrats have done the past 10 years has been terrible.

They can blame Hillary, Antifa, BLM and DWS/Keith Ellison types for their woes.

Dems should've come out against these clowns from the start, but they opted to get them to do their dirty work and it has backfired bigly.

His point was that the Democrat leadership seems to have no real direction other than to throw up roadblocks for the Republicans, and the are doing it in the worst possible way by trying to shut down any free speech and setting up protests that inevitably make the news because they turn violent and showcase groups like Antifa.

To continue to paraphrase him, he says that every time you turn on the tv, you see liberals dressed up like video game characters and doing stupid stuff.
