I for one was disappointed, what did you all think? It appears that the liberal agenda maybe didn't fully get to him but it did have an impact on his monologue. He was not the free speaker that he used to be, at least during that 10 minute segment.

When will enough be enough? When will it stop being cool to play the victim? When can we grow the hell up and take ownership in this country again and say you know what we have GROWN as a nation and we will continue to be more unified going forward in a real way instead of isolating each other by race which happens to be exactly the opposite of what Martin Luther King called for

Quality response. I don't either but I have been a chappelle fan for a long time and wanted to see if he still aligned himself the way he used to. Haven't watched the show in 15 years and won't again for another 15, was simply making a comment and asking questions specifically regarding Dave Chappelle

Are you really surprised that a black man in entertainment media would have liberal views? Broadcast on NBC to surely what is a largely liberal audience?

Shocked I tell you, shocked.

"Liberal agenda"

It's Dave Chapelle on frickin SNL bro.

They have lost so much. SNL used to have a sense of humor that all Americans could appreciate. Now it's political messaging that appeals to one half of the country.

First time turning it on in over a decade. He wasn't funny, likely won't turn it on for another decade.

I knew what I was about to watch and still watched it. Why? Because I like Dave Chappelle as a comedian and really don't give a frick about his political views.

Some of you are truly miserable human beings. Your responses reek of it.

I got a bevy of down votes last night calling him an a-hole. I thought what he said about the Orlando shooting was in very bad taste and unnecessary.

Going in I always expect a liberal sided message and some of what I watched last night was funny. It is what it is. There should be plenty of material the next 4 years.

His monologue was fricking hilarious if you can step outside your partisan leanings for just a second. The line about loving Donald Trumps hotels because the maid walks in and you get to grab a handful of pussy cause the boss said it was OK.

Bunch of butthurt Trumpkins up in hur.

I respectfully disagree. With Trump winning, they will have material for the next four years. Alec Baldwin has the strongest job security right now.

I'll say I'm surprised this thread didn't get worse about it as there's often thick irony of "I hate how everyone plays the victim and is out to get me"

Ultimately - watch and enjoy for comedy's sake even if some of the jokes might be about you, or tune out. To whine about it is silly though and becoming the victim yourself.

I'm hopeful that we will get some good art out of all this even if I don't agree with some of it. Hopefully there will be some semblance of subversive "fight the man" that has been totally missing (I know I know, easy to cry that it didn't happen the last few years but whatever)

Thats funny. "Butthurt" about what exactly? Dems, Libs, Commies, Enviro-nuts, etc, just got kicked to the curb and had their own shitty diapers thrown on top of them.

I thought he did a good job. It wasn't nearly as far left as I expected.

Dave and Chris Rock laughing at the woman crying about electing Trump is the worst thing the US has ever done was great.

I just listened to it... I thought it struck a good balance and was funny. Maybe you're a little thin skinned and your feelings get hurt when you don't hear exactly what you want to hear.

The opening was the worst few minutes in the history of SNL and I'd say I'm generally a fan of the show. Of course it had nothing to do with Chapelle.

As far as the rest of the show, they could have done so much more with Chapelle. He is incredibly talented but this was way below his standards.

What I think happened was, the cast was in deep depression all week and probably had an entirely different show sketched out Mon/Tues that ended in the trash when Trump won.
