Nothing from ABC News. Nothing from NBCNews.com. Nothing from CNN. Nothing from The New York Times. That’s pretty stunning, considering the potential scope of the story.

1 out of 4's not bad, I guess. Certainly won't stop you from using Shapiro as a source in the future even though this took literally five seconds to check.

EDIT: Goddammit I shouldn't have left this tab open

DWS just firing them today (or last night), is the most newsworthy part of the story.

Even then, it's not like the avenge person knows who DWS is, especially since she is already a disgraced has been.

Now maybe the investigation will reveal something more noteworthy, but if it's just "bank fraud" committed by the brothers, then it's newsworthy but not exactly front page material.

DWS is the disgraced has been former head of the DNC - who had their servers hacked or compromised in some way. Her IT guy has been under investigation for months and she's been paying him 4 times the going rate for his services up until the day he is arrested THEN she fires him.

The DNC hack is kindof a big story - even if people have no idea who DWS is they know about the hack and they literally have to only connect two dots.

It appears all those stories are time stamped after ben's.

Sounds like his story worked.

Ben's story doesn't have a time stamp.

It's a big story, but until the contents of that hard drive are analyzed, or the brothers are interviewed, the news of the past few days doesn't really advance it much.

I feel like you're confusing news stories with criminal convictions.

do you think it's silly that we even know about the hard drives?

The major outlets appeared to have released it this morning. Google says "9 hours ago" for the NYT

i don't buy it - this is a pretty clear omission by the media in order to minimize the story.

I'm saying that we don't know what is on those hard drives. We know the brothers are being investigated for fraud, so until more information is available, that's not especially newsworthy--although it could very well be eventually.

Right, and I'm saying the guy getting arrested fleeing the country for "a small loan discrepancy" or whatever his lawyer called it, should at least warrant a mention of that little detail, right? Otherwise, it makes no sense that he would wire hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pakistan and then try to flee.

Certainly the fact the DWS fired him is not the interesting part of this story. His level of access prior to planning a long "visit" home (he wasn't coming back) would be more interesting.

What was a vital piece if information omitted? That two months ago DWS believed that the DC police didn't have a legal right to hold her property, and said there would he "consequences?" That sounds like DWS every time her insufferable self was on TV.

It's only a story about a breech involving a foreign entity and access to DNC emails.

You'd think Democrats and their media would care.

Yeah? It's common for news outlets to cite AP articles for news events. That's a major purpose of the AP. About 1700 papers publish AP articles, as of 2007 (from wiki).

i've put that in several posts ITT.

ummmmmm yeah - DC police was investigating Awan and not only did DWS threaten him she kept the subject of the investigation on payroll at 4 times the going rate for months.

That and every other detail previously mentioned had potential to be included in the the article instead of 'IT guy commits bank fraud; used to word for DWS'.

No mention of the DNC hack when the IT guy for head of the DNC at the time of the hack is caught fleeing the country? Come on man. i'm not saying they should have outright accused her of wrong doing or gone to far down the rabbit hole but to COMPLETELY ignore the ONE degree of separation between this and another major news story looks like an intentional omission.
