Could Americans be mentally worn down into accepting Socialism?

I remember back in elementary school, if I fell behind in a particular lesson to the point where I thought I was too far behind to recover , I’d simply give up for that day and let my mind wonder.
Would it be possible to make every day life so difficult for the majority of Americans through inflation, supply chain shortages, covid, open borders, endless crises, higher taxes, etc. to simply throw up their hands a give up?

It’s called demoralization and it’s a communist technique.

Yes. They pride themselves in playing the long game

That is exactly what has happened. Liberals have played the long game to gain power over the courts and the media. Eventually it will backfire.

I think the plan is to make everything so terrible that people want to start over and scrap the constitution. That’s what the globalists want. They hate our protections

We are slowly becoming a socialist state one welfare program at a time.

Right now 57% don't pay federal tax
3 years ago it was about 45%
With the new budget, in 3 more years it will be 70%
Communism is here.

Millennials want it and boomers are getting too old and are running out of steam trying to stop it

It will take a solid 2 terms with conservative leadership to halt this. 8 years. And probably a non-nuclear world war.

Don’t forget one of the most important areas, academia

Lol. Like Boomers aren’t complicit in this.

I’m more worried they’ll be starved into acceptance.

Easily.
In fact, I suspect both dominant parties will be happy about it. Talk about the ultimate in power.

We’ve been watching it happen for decades.

That was unstated in the inflation and crisis categories. I heard today that a record amount of Americans are being forced to un-retire

I just don't think it is going to be the utopia the despots want when they get it.

The power brokers know its not Utopia. Its the dumbass rank and file progressive who doesn't.
Power brokers just want power, nothing concentrates power more than socialism.

A bunch of folks in this country already have. I guess you could call them Americans if you are in a generous mood. Dumbasses is more accurate.

It depends upon the definition of "socialism." One man's "socialism" is in fact the common sense of the body politic.
Look at the climate, for instance. The Southeast US, for instance, has become increasingly targeted for severe weather events, as the years go by. This is a region which should embrace "socialist" policies such as the Green New Deal, not contemptuously dismiss them.
