Describing themselves as “aggrieved minority students,” they claim that the professor was wrong to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in the papers of black students.

I'm surprised they know how to spell "aggrieved" correctly.

even worse, its a graduate student association.

Unfortunately, I witnessed a ton of horrible grammar and general speaking ability in my law school classes at a pretty well-regarded school. Professors never said anything, obviously. It's insane.

Once again, it's always someone else's fault. It's not their fault that they got a bad grade - it's the racist university!

And another race based thread.

Nothing about this issue is/was race based until the student(s) made it so.

Even then, the story at its roots isn't about race. It's about the upcoming spoiled, entitled and bitchy generation that refuses acknowledge self faults but instead make huge scenes about "race" issues that don't exist.

God forbid a professor correct blatant grammar and spelling mistakes.

I hope you're referring to the speech and debate tourney win from a few months ago.

I got one and the guy stated he was a world class super ninja with powers of invisibility. I called him for an interview just to see.

But are your grammar standards "ideologically motivated"?

If by "ideologically motivated" you mean that I think poor grammar will help destroy society, then yes.

I really really really loathe and despise the victim mentality that's sweeping through this country like wildfire. This mentality always has them blaming somebody. It's pathetic.

I had a lot bigger problems academically than knowing the difference between an adjective and a proper noun. You'd get corrected for that in an intermediate foreign language class.
