Exactly. He's the epitome of a law and order judge, until it conflicts with his religion. His religion always wins.

Yet you didn't call them Quran thumpers.

Hypocritical bitch.

How so? What do the founding principles of this country have to do with the Islamic Quran?

What methodology are you using to differentiate between his principles and his religion?

IMHO he should have. The FED GOV should not force states to issue state approved documents dictated by FED law. All states should have told tFEDs to take over marriage licenses.

Roy Moore is a good Republican and a strong Christian.

Roy Moore is basically a caricature of what some liberals think represents the conservative version of both of those groups.

What those of you out of state fail to see is how un-electable Big Luther is. It's not that Roy is that good. It's that Luther Strange is that bad.

I hadn't really heard of him til he got the interim nod, what's so bad about him-- is he too tied into the corrupt governor?

What he actually did:

As chief justice, he commissioned a stone monument of the Ten Commandments at his personal expense, and had it installed at the supreme court building. He was removed from the bench in 2003 when he refused to remove the monument.

He was re-elected in 2013 and removed again for ordering state clerks to continue enforcing a state law that prevented same sex couples from getting state marriage licenses.

I don't have a problem with the Ten Commandments. In fact, I remember that on the news now. I applauded him for doing so.

Ten commandments engraved on a monument, aren't going to make a person any more or less moral. It's what's in the heart that does that.

The thing is you don't know shite about Alabama politics but you want to bring your national talking points into this.

One doesn't have to know the intricacies of a state's politics, which I'm sure are unknown to most in the state anyways, to be concerned about someone with Moore's history--especially since he is running for the Senate of the UNITED STATES.

My basic issue is its Alabama, you have a crap ton of Republican Reps and a bunch of statewide office holders how the hell do you not have a better option than Roy Moore?

It's like if the Kentucky GOP nominated Kim Davis.

Our state has the right to send whomever it chooses to the Senate.

How bout you list all the other Senators you don't think states should send.

I love how y'all are still arguing about this like this poll matters. Nobody has even started running ads yet, but when they do, all the Bob Riley pac money is going to Crooked Luther and he will win easily.

No they don't.

Morals should never be legislated. We are a nation of laws and those laws are voted on. Not dictated by feels.

Well, thats how it is supposed to be.

Of course. I never said otherwise. I don't understand what your point is here. I've seen you post in the French election threads, and that is even less relevant to us than a senate race for our Federal Goverenment?

It's not who they SHOULD or SHOULDN'T send, but there are plenty that I wish they WOULD or WOULDN'T send.

Regardless, a good place to start is a person who has been removed from office, not once, but twice. BUT even then, it's still your state's right to put him in office, if there is no rules against him running; however, that doesn't mean one shouldn't be concerned about a person in a position within the FEDERAL government.

What do you want? Only people who can vote in that election to discuss that election?

It's amusing that after a few weeks of people bitching about spineless republicans, the one republican who has the spine to fight for many beliefs that he has in common with people on here is being ripped on with leftist talking points.

You want to know why republicans fold so easily? Look at the voters and who they choose as their republican representation. It's your fault because you can't stomach someone who won't capitulate(not directed at MrLarson)
