And so are its contents. It matters not whether the document, as this one, is unclassified.

Even in my job. I'm not allowed to take notes from pitches or client meetings with me when I leave and I work for a private company doing sales essentially.

I bet Comey leaked more than just "his" memos.

We needs an independent council into these potentially corrupt matters at the top of the FBI.

The FBI is a mess, thanks to Comey.

No doubt the Trump admin is going to go after him hard. I can't wait to see Trump break Comey like he broke Kathy Griffin

See that word there?

Public documents belong to the public. There is no right of "privacy". If there are recordings that Trump made, he will be forced to release them.

This seems inevitable at this point.

1. For it to be a public document comey is acting like he has ownership for it. So is it his private property or a public document?

2. There is a process for disclosing information to the public and leaking it to the press isn't it.

3. If Comey really felt he could legally release the memo then he would have held a press conference and not had a friend leak it. Or I guess you could believe his explanation that he didn't want to feed the vultures yet admits he did it get a special counsel.

I destroyed your argument in one sentence. If you want to replace "recordings" with "unclassified memos" go ahead. I was just previewing what is next.

Correct, which is why this law exists and why Comey's memos weren't his to decide to do as he wished with them.

This is why Hillary had a private email server. FOIA laws apply to memos, tapes, emails, whatever. If there ARE tapes (and there aren't) Trump will be required to turn them over to we the people.
