I wish he would go ahead and extend the offer to Romney. I'm growing impatient during my slow workday and I want to see Romney in this new government.

Why is he considering it if it hasn't been offered.

Romney as Sec of state would be awesome. As a non trump supporter, I would be extremely happy with that pick. I don't like Romney's policies, but I do trust him.

Who the frick cares about HUD secretary? Why not just get rid of HUD?

Romney would be a great pick as SecState considering Trump's complete lack of experience and he would be a natural fit for it considering his diplomatic skills. It would be incredibly dangerous for Trump to pick a complete novice in a major cabinet considering Trump's lack of experience.

I just wonder if Mitt will be the kind of SecState that will see the rest of the world as they see it and trust to adjust accordingly instead of working in a manner similar to that of an idealist forcing our own morals on them.

If you hate Trump and don't trust him, you want someone qualified and experienced in the cabinet posts to make sure he doesn't go too completely overboard and act as a check on him with constructive criticism.

I understand your hate for Trump but country comes first over personal feelings.

Wonder if this is apprentice type drama. Built up the story to make it look like one guy will be in and at the last second choose the other.
.
Either that or there is something in Giuliani's history that they are very concerned about.

What are Romneys qualifications for SOC? I say that as someone who voted for him as president. What are his foreign policy credentials?

That's fine, but I view Romney more as a huge sell-out in this case, and that is a character issue for me. We'll see how it plays out, but more than likely those who "make sure he doesn't go too completely overboard and act as a check on him with constructive criticism" won't last very long in his cabinet.

Romney can eat a dick.

I know there is going to be outreach to Dems and Republicans who weren't part of the campaign but Romney's Never Trump crap should keep him from any of the upper tier cabinet spots.

I can see him at Commerce or some other second or third tier position but not fricking State.

Yep. Sec. of State needs to be a dull person. Competent and DULL. Not volatile.

Helped bring the winter Olympics to Salt Lake City a few years ago so he has experience dealing with corrupt foreigners.

Just because you hate Romney, does that mean you have to resort to babbling utter stupidity? If you can see a former GOP presidential nominee running the fricking Commerce department, you literally don't know shite about politics.

Well, so do I, but he doesn't want it. Maybe you can pick up the phone and call him and change his mind.
