The republicans were not involved in this stage of the dem's bill either. The two bills will be reconciled in the wide open arena.

You must recognize the difference between now when we're talking about a proposed Senate bill which hasn't even put up to vote yet, versus then when Nancy Pelosi was telling Congressman as they were voting on the finished bill that they would have to vote on the bill before they would know what is in it?
In fact actually if you go back and look at that bill you can see her real meaning. She wasn't saying "you can't read the bill until after you vote on it" what she was saying was "this bill gives the Sec of Health & Human Services extraordinary powers over the health insurance industry and we really won't know what changes s/he will make unless we pass the bill and give him the authority to do so"
The ACA was a sham for that reason, no one voting on it even knew what they were going to see as a result.

The ACA at least had hearings and made amendments based on republican commentary. This health care bill has had zero hearings and zero amendments from democrats.

A) go ahead and list for me the Amendments to the ACA based on Republican commentary
B) do you understand that the bill is still in conference, if it gets out of conference, they will show it to the entire Senate and have discussions and an open vote.

Yet as we reported at the time, those amendments were mostly technical. Only two of those Republican amendments were passed via roll-call vote.
