Trump created leverage with tough campaign talk on china. Now that he's met with Xi, china suddenly looks like a powerful new ally and Trump has backed off of his rhetoric.

Anyone who can't see what's going on here is willfully ignorant, or just a garden variety liberal.

China wants to make sure that there is not an influx of refugees from NK once the shooting starts.

So anyone who doesn't assume that everything Trump touches turns to gold...those of us who want to wait and see what is actually going on and what is actually going to happen...are ignorant?

If we hit Kim, there WILL be a refugee crisis.

China doesn't want a million NKs pouring over the Yalu.

China is not our ally, nor will it ever be. Were more along the lines of business partners. South Korea is also a business partner of China and the US. War is bad for business. Trump is a deal maker, and China got something for some measure of support, likely at the cost of someone else.

This is what worries me.

I've said for a long time...eventually we're going to have to make a deal with the Chinese and trade Taiwan for North Korea. I hope I'm wrong on that.

Im not too concerned with Taiwan. I'm more worried about the East and South China Seas

This...

The Chinese need oil for their expanding industrial infrastructure. The South China Sea grab is all about oil and geopolitical force projection, It's likely that the Chinese want the snooping EP-3's and P-8's to go away. When WWIII starts it will be over the Spratlys. Trump and Xi will be long gone when this happens, and the next US and Chinese leaders will likely not be so friendly.

Ignorant? That's rich coming from you...one of the biggest hacks on the board.

I thought we'd be embroiled in nuclear war with China by now over that Taiwan call by now? Whatever happened with that?

Call them what you like. 150k soldiers at the front door of NK sounds like a little more than business partners to me.

To prevent anything from spilling over their border with NK. First things first, they don't want North Korean refugees if Little Kim gets Pyongyang destroyed.

That does not describe you. You want to immediately seize any opportunity to oppose the President.

Credible link or is this more cold leftovers from this week's rumor mill?
