This is one of the dumbest words anyone has ever come up with in an attempt to alter a real word. You should never use it again.

I have a keen interest in North American Indian culture. I must say I had never heard about gay marriage among North American Indians. Do you have any links to some references on this subject? I'd love to read them.

From Wiki:
In North America, among the Native Americans societies, same-sex unions have taken the form of Two-Spirit-type relationships, in which some male members of the tribe, from an early age, heed a calling to take on female gender with all its responsibilities. "In many tribes, individuals who entered into same-sex relationships were considered holy and treated with utmost respect and acceptance," according to anthropologist Brian Gilley.[44]

Well this is just false. Think about that for two seconds. That's why we distinguish between fear and irrational fear. And not all opposition to the legitimacy of homosexuality is irrational.

If it isn't homophobia then what is it? Just so much loyalty to traditional marriage? Like skinheads don't hate blacks and je
I'm all for the gay agenda trying to change people's minds. Have your protests and blogs and lectures and lobbying groups and ads and impassioned pleas. Put it to a direct vote or through our elected representatives. That sounds great to me. It seems the CRM changed a lot of people's minds. It seems most of us whitefolk these days don't go around oppressing the black man, and agree with equality. See this is where the comparison falls apart. The gays haven't changed minds. They're just being fascists about it.

Yes. And I asked for your alternative theories and received nothing.

Pretty well established that fear is based in ignorance. Not really that debatable.

I thought we had evolved past the point of one group of people needing to prove that they deserved equal rights. Apparently not.

No, it's not. Please just think in common sense terms. Right now you are ignorant to the man hiding in the bushes. When he jumps out with a knife to attack you, your fear will be based in realization, the exact fricking opposite of ignorance.

We've already covered the basic fallacy of marriage as a "right".

No you are afraid because you are ignorant to what is in the bushes. Once you find out there is nothing in the bushes you are not afraid. If the man is in the bushes you afraid because you are ignorant to how to defend yourself. Once you know how to defend yourself you are not afraid. It is you who need to use common sense.

I know of no large societies who have legitimized homosexuality and continued to thrive long-term, with regards to population and economic growth, family stability, and overall conditions. Do you? We just don't know.

Ok, so you are afraid that homosexuality will bring the downfall of our society. Thanks for admitting that.

Yes, I guess. To some degree. I have concerns. And I've already proven that many fears in themselves are valid. So would you like to discuss the validity of those fears based on economics, history, etc? Or would you like to just say "anyone who is scared of anything is a bigot"?

Equal rights for around 1 or 2% of the population or the fact that 60-70% of our population are bigoted busybodies who despite their love of their country loathe actual freedom...care to guess which one scares me more?

Are you under the illusion that a certain percentage of the population is just "born gay" and that's that? Because that also has zero basis in genetics, biology, evolution, sexology, history, anthropology, etc., etc. It'd be great if it were true, but it's not.

I doubt all gay people are born gay and I don't care. It's not really my business. Why does it matter? They want to commit to a person they love. Why is that such a big problem for you?
