Adams spoke "the truths" that many in the world of music, the entertainment industry and the arts believe. If you look beyond the superficial it becomes obvious. This is also in play in geopolitics (which is why things /events will never make sense to those who refuse to believe that influential others/some believe this...)

Some people "worship" progress and knowledge. They view man and themselves as gods.
Mantras such as "Do as thou wilt" are applicable
This worship of progress and scientism leads to acceptance of behavior /policies sometimes discongruent with pre-existing natural order. These changes are typically adopted with religious like fervor by mindless folks who revel in their own brilliance. Meanwhile they control the messages transmitted to the masses (movies, music, art) in a form of soft mind control. Zoom out and this has been happening over the last few decades.
That "age" may be coming to an end. We shall see what revelations await us...

I am aware of the story of Peter asking to be crucified upside down but I've never heard of the upside down cross being used as anything other than a symbol of Laveyan Satanism.
