Chaffetz is not running for re-election

He came to an Iowa off year caucus one time. I visited with him, and found him to be a pretty decent guy. The subject of our conversation was my disappointment in the Republican party. I don't recall, but I think the 2014-5 caucus becuase Ben Carson'r people were already there. I think he was a Never Trump for a period, but don't recall.
Anyway, we'll see if he runs for something else, or really returns to the private sector.

Chaffetz wants to run for Utah Governor in 2020 and he's distancing himself from DC to start that off.

This just got a lot more interesting. Rumors are starting to circulate that Chaffetz might resign as early as tomorrow and he's not exactly ruling it out.

Resigning early is interesting. By the way he's talking about wanting to spend more time with his family I'd guess he got caught having an affair.
