Why is the CDC even involved with climate change and guns? Neither are diseases

But a co-sponsor said he was told by the CDC that it was worried how the conference would be viewed by the Trump administration.

People back down with TRUMP.

Why the hell would the Center for Disease Control be having a conference on climate change?

I guess if NASA can become a "Muslim Outreach" program anything can make sense.

Diseases thrive in hot, concentrated environments.

Climate change will force people into denser living areas and we love our cholera don't we!

That was then. This is now. And this will help with President Trump's directive to cut costs.

When a drought makes an area uninhabitable there will be a struggle for resources.

Maybe because all the people from the Northeast are about to be snowed in?

How do you know climate change will lead to droughts?

i honestly don't get that either

the biggest issue with global warming is that our coastal areas are at risk

this is a problem b/c our coastal areas are where our population centers developed

so the danger of AGW is the attack on our dense population areas

Actually, during the Medieval Warm Period (which was several degrees warmer than today), rates of disease fell drastically as the higher temperatures caused swamps to dry up. The warmer temperatures increased crop yields as well as extended northward the range for many crops. Grapes were grown in england. Greenland was more than green enough to graze large flocks of sheep. Germany, Eastern Europe, and Scandanavia suddenly became so futile that their populations exploded, leading to the creation of the Germanic Kingdoms, the Viking conquests, and a unified Russian identity.

So actually, global warming likely would be good for disease control and carrying capacity, not bad.

I'll actually get your back here. Whether man driven or not, increased surface temps will have some effect on pathogen (and human) behavior. I would expect the CDC's scientist to prepare for such an eventuality if trends indicate that direction, without regard to the cause.

It shouldn't be hard to disassociate human driven warming to the research topics.

Sounds like information that should be presented, no?
