Per Gallup last year, only 66% now identify as Democrat voters.

My son is 14 and is based as frick. He's also number 1 in his class in a school known for academics in the state of Florida. I always talk to him about politics but try to let him form his own opinion however if he ever wants a car or support in college - He better not ever come home a commie.

Anecdotal, but had a conversation with a few black guys recently from western Fort Worth area. All of them said they were not on board with the Dem shite lately. Early twenties to early forties. Some with kids, some not. They all worked for the same manufacturing company, in the same dept. Easily could have been an echo chamber situation, but they seemed to have their individual reasons why.
The majority black vote might go to Biden, but I doubt he gets enough to win. If 33% votes Trump, that's the grim reaper at Biden's door.

The polls within the article are for all adults so I’m not sure what Carville’s quote is for
Unfortunately Gen Z polls consistently have them leaving the Dems because they aren’t left enough, not because they’re embracing conservatism

One thing's for sure, if they're registered to vote, there's a ballot already made out in their name. If they don't show up to vote, that ballot will be filled out for Biden and the Dems.

Gen Z is more complicated than that.
The girls are hard leftists but the boys are more conservative at that age than previous generations by far.

Part of that is as people become educated and work higher paying jobs, they pay more in taxes and eventually turn into fiscal republicans. Same is true for immigrants.
The ones that stay poor sucking the government teet stay poor and become democrats.
But then there is tipping point once you get too wealthy and you can game the tax code, you act like a democrat because you control the politicians and your tax breaks and you want to fit in with lefty Hollywood icons.

Carville is referring to internal DNC polling unfavorable to Democrats that the Media will never report.
