Dr. Ben Carson told radio host Hugh Hewitt Monday night that the odds of seeing him on the presidential trail next year as a candidate for the GOP nomination are “reasonably good” and that he will make a decision to run no later than next May

I'd like to see a Ben Carson/Susana Martinez ticket

He lacks panache and flair. He might as well throw his money in the garbage.

it would make for good entertainment to watch a Democrat try to debate him

Sometimes but most candidates have been in politics for quite some time. He's not at that stage yet I don't think he understands how much theater comes into play.

FYI, Carson is speaking in Baton Rouge in late November. I got an invite in the mail a couple of days ago...

He's got to make it through the 50 or 60 Republican debates first.

Democratic Candidate: Dr. Carson, do you really believe that the world is 6,000 years old?
Carson: Yes, it's in the Bible.

I'm not trying to derail the thread, but you atheists piss me off when you put words into the bible that aren't there. The 6k years old meme was created by an Irish Scholar centuries ago, who, interpreting the bible, claimed it asserted that the earth is only that old.

The Geoscience Research Institute at Loma Linda University (an Adventist institution) publishes a semi-annual periodical Origins which promotes Creation Science.
I understand your jimmies are rustled from defending Romney's magic underpants for 18 months, but just accept that 7th Day Adventists are almost as batshite crash as Mormons - it will make it a lot easier for you to accept Jebbers or Christie as your eventual nominee and as the eventual runner up to Hillary Clinton.

Fine, I just don't understand why it bothers you so much as to what people choose to believe, spiritually. The presidency is not a scientific position. Does the spiritual faith of someone seriously bother you that much? Clinton said today that she is extremely devoted to Christ. Why doesn't that draw the ire of you?
If people find strength, comfort, and guidance in their spiritual beliefs (three things that science cannot provide, but can take away), why is that a bad thing.
Why is it necessary for someone to be absolutely devoted to measurement, materialism, and grayness?

Because we know that she's lying and pandering to the schlubs who care about that nonsense. She's almost certainly an atheist as is Obama. But Dubya, Romney, Huckabee, and Carson on the otherhand… they literally believe this stuff. You can choose to be okay with that - I'm not.
