Carly Fiorina : possible 2016 run

Washington Post:Carly Fiorina actively explores 2016 presidential run but faces GOP critics
Potential bright spot for GOP. She might help with some demos assuming Hillary gets the D nomination. She might help in VP role - but GOP has to make inroads with Hispanics...so...
She has some issues, but she's definitely a "new direction" compared to the Obama/career politician of the past 8 years. The "new direction" won last time. She's worth keeping an eye on.

On a Republican presidential debate stage expected to be filled with more than a dozen current and former politicians, Carly Fiorina envisions herself standing out — as the only woman and the only CEO.
Sensing an opportunity in a crowded field that lacks a front-runner, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive is actively exploring a 2016 presidential run. Fiorina has been talking privately with potential donors, recruiting campaign staffers, courting grass-roots activists in early caucus and primary states and planning trips to Iowa and New Hampshire starting next week.
Fiorina, whose rise from secretary to Silicon Valley corporate chief during the dot-com boom brought her national attention, has refashioned herself as a hard-charging partisan hoping to strike a sharp contrast with the sea of suited men seeking the GOP nomination.

I was disappointed to read she has outstanding bills from her run in California.
She is a multi millionaire and certainly has the contacts to have raised the money to pay her campaign bills.
I am intrigued by her resume and I like she is not a career politician.

I'll tell you what I find depressing, bigot.
That you progs say you need a woman to get the female vote, or a latino to get the latino vote.
It's fricking sad.

Susana Martinez is my prediction for the V.P. slot.
Fiorina is interesting, but I don't think she really stands a chance at getting the nomination. I saw her on FNS a few weeks ago and while I thought she had intelligent things to say, there was very little polish that voters look for.

It's politics. It is what it is.

She's probably too socially conservative to be a serious challenger or VP candidate.

Didn't she almost auger HP into the ground?

Yeah, she was my pick for Romney. I think the GOP was still reeling from the relatively unknown female governor pick from 2008 (Palin)
Rs have to do better with Hispanics in 2016. Period.

Absolutely, but just getting back to the demographics Bush got would have won the presidency for Romney.
There are two front runners that will win some Hispanics over: Jeb Bush and Martinez. A lot of libertarian posters on here will not like that answer, but it's true.

I have heard her speak several times in various settings. I have not been impressed. She strikes me as someone who is VERY impressed with herself, but there isn't much substance there. She has the whole "successful career woman" thing down and people cater to her, but beyond that, I do not see much there.
Wait... that's how Obama got elected, so maybe there is a chance.

Initially my gut reaction is "no" because she doesn't get you anything other than New Mexico, but I suppose she could help with Florida, too.

Barbara Boxer was primed to be taken out in 2010 and Fiorina failed to do so. She won't win any national election with the gays, environmentalists and women inflicting a 1,000 cuts on her.

Never heard of her.
If I woman runs, I want Susana Martinez out of New Mexico.
Palin already proved that having a woman on the ticket won't help win anymore women. Republicans usually win the older and married women and Democrats usually win the younger and single women.
Where republicans need to pick up voters is hispanics and younger people in general (which a certain eye doctoer out of Kentucky would easily pick up enough to close the gap). Women and African Americans would be nice but hispanics and younger ppl are more high yield.
