Women are emotional creatures, they shouldn't be allowed to vote or hold office.

Policy should never be dictated by emotion and she did just that.

see, even though i despise the battle flag of N. Va, i have no problem with people, like you, that want to fly it at your house... as long as it's on your property, do what you want to do with that flag....

i see the flag in a different way, obviously, but i support your right to fly it at your house...

Very thoughtful post. I think most of the Southerners who supported secession thought they were continuing the legacy of the Founding Fathers. The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, authored by Jefferson and Madison, conceived of a compact theory among the states. Since states were the one's who ratified the Constitution and the sole reason for its implementation, the states could deem an act unconstitutional if the Federal government exceeded its expressly delegated powers.

Many Southerners referred to the Civil War as the Second War for Independence. They saw themselves in much the same manner as their ancestors who declared themselves independent from Great Britain.

I'll bet you're a shitty wing man at bars. I'd be just about to ice the deal and then you'd say some shite like that to the fat friend. Both would storm off in a huff and I'm looking at you like, "wtf man?!? Enough with the 1950s cigarette ad chuvanist bullshite. You are the worst wing man ever!"

frick Sherman.

You're so fricking stupid sometimes Buckeye.

You do realize that Sherman let a group of slaves drown & ordered his soldiers to stand down and don't help quoting "we're not here for them".

Yet, here you are endorsing the guy.

I forget sometimes that you're a Kasich guy

Well, it didn't start there, so no.

Yup. The flag issue in SC started when Governor David Beasley told the people of South Carolina that Jesus Christ came to him in a dream after he'd prayed and that was a sign that he had to take the flag down. I think this was before he got caught screwing one of his staffers.

He still thinks Bush 43 was a good President and the Iraq war was a fine and dandy thing to do.

I'll up you one on that. I told my State Senator here in South Carolina (who came out in support of removing the flag) that this would happen. He laughed at me.
