KKK Leaders Allege Producers Paid Them to Fake Scenes in Canceled A&E Documentary

quote:

Some KKK leaders divulged that they were paid hundreds of dollars in cash each day of filming to compel them on camera to distort the facts of their lives to fit the documentary’s predetermined narrative: tension between Klan members and relatives of theirs who wanted to get out of the Klan.

quote:

The production team even paid for material and equipment to construct and burn wooden crosses and Nazi swastikas, according to multiple sources including Richard Nichols, who is one of the featured subjects of the documentary series as the Grand Dragon of a KKK cell known as the Tennessee White Knights of the Invisible Empire. He also said he was encouraged by a producer to use the epithet “[N-word]” in interviews.

quote:

But as Nichols describes it, the production had little interest in accurately reflecting his life. Instead, he says TIJAT producers manipulated nearly every aspect of what appeared on camera, right down to making sure his choice of words during interviews was sufficiently objectionable.

“They kept asking me, wanting me, to use the word ‘****,’” said Nichols, who alleged he was paid $600 per day by producers to participate. “I was sitting down being filmed and interviewed with the lights and the backdrop set up, and I said something and used the word ‘blacks.’ Then the producer interrupted me and said ‘No, no, no. We want him to use the word “****!”’’’

Not surprising for A&E.

Now if it was a PBS documentary, that would be a much bigger deal.

The KKK does not exist, effectively. It hasn't existed for about 50 years.

The KKK is imaginary leftwing outrage clickbait.

There's no leadership, no organization, no funding, no anything.

Every now and then about a dozen meth heads with no money and no teeth will get together in a trailer park, put robes and burn a cross.

Furries are a larger, more powerful lobby than the "KKK" is.

It's a boogeyman the left uses to demonize people they don't like or to drum up fear and outrage.

do they even do that anymore? every time something gets burned and it is attributed to the kkk it ends up being a black person that did it.

The KKK is insignificant, but they exist. We had KKK protestors at my high school and I didn't quite go to school 50 years ago. But yeah it's no surprise that a reality show would script events. That's not exactly news to most of us.

I love this shite. My sister (who resides in the Bay Area) is firmly convinced that there are millions of secret klan members that have been lying in wait for the perfect time to emerge and are now coming out in droves to await orders from Trump.

What about would they pass out fliers in the middle of the night? That still happens in some places.

I'm going to pitch the idea of a documentary about Kekist Neo-Nazis with Russian sympathies.

most of the time i see these stories i suspect a non-racist is trying to invent a story

like this one (that i called out before the evildoer was eposed)

quote:

An Austin lawyer is claiming responsibility for several stickers placed on East Austin businesses that claimed they were “exclusively for white people.”

Adam Reposa posted the video on YouTube and made a statement on Facebook saying he was trying promote the issue of gentrification in East Austin. (Warning: The video contains explicit language)

To "protect white students". When school lines were redrawn to promote integration my HS went from 95% white just a few years earlier to 50/50 white/black and we had lots of racial tension and fights.

I've been saying the same thing since the MSM started beating this KKK drum.

I live in rural Alabama. If the klan was alive and well, living here and having the career I have, I think I'd know about it. Now we got some real deal Aryan Brotherhood dudes. But no klan.

Why would they need to? Donald Trump has shown bigotry need not be secretive.

This.

Hell, the KKK is more of a punchline these days. Good thing, too.

Maybe but I suspect some are real. We even have them in the Los Angeles area. According to the WaPo it's a nationwide trend.
