Beginning on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors will be legal in California. Yes, you read that right.

SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so. So teenage girls (and boys) in California will soon be free to have sex in exchange for money without fear of arrest or prosecution.

This terribly destructive legislation was written and passed by the progressive Democrats who control California's state government with a two-thirds "supermajority."

Prostitution should be legal. Sex with a minor should not be. As batshit as California is, unless they stop arresting the Johns that are having sex/attempting to have sex with underaged prostitutes, then I have no problem with this.

the washington examiner sucks

does the law indicate whether they are taken into custody for the purpose of providing a safe place?

chances are great that your thread title is a lie.

they didn't legalize it. they just changed policy to stop arresting them for a crime, and instead .... what? come on. you can say it. go on now.

There is a big difference between not arresting underage sex workers and legalizing child prostitution.

If you think it is legal then feel free to go to Cali, bang a 16-year-old hooker, and report back.

Most of the minors must be runaways. What kind of society turns a blind eye to runaway teens, or any teen, prostituting themselves. That just gives me the creeps.

But you got to punish the victim....not the predator...because the predator may well be a well heeled individual with connections while the child is a nobody and nobody will complain when they are tossed in prison...

So a minor that wants to prostitute is ok as long as the John is a minor? Wtf!?

Then you need to see the age of consent for Mexican states. Some state/s are as low as 12. Maybe people who love liberalism just love little kids.

It's not good, but it shouldn't be illegal. Do you think minors that have sex with each other without money exchanging hands should be arrested? Do you think giving a kid time in juvie/jail and a sex offense record is going to help them get their shite together? The Johns and pimps/traffickers are the one that should be punished, not the kid.
