States can force bans through with holding funds but the Feds cannot ban travel?

As long as it is a noble cause it is all good, right left?

Next thing you know, they'll ban travel to/from countries where gays are thrown off rooftops.

Oh wait!!!

Exactly. I love Alabama. We don't need that cancer to come here and ruin it.

After the 2,000 mile wall on the border gets put up, let's go ahead and wall off CA while we're at it.

Those people are the biggest hypocrites of all and I hope everyone calls them on their BS. Hate refugee travel ban but institute your own?

So travel is banned to almost 20% of the entire country? Can we get it up to 40 or 50% by 2018?

Law makers passed legislation last year banning non-essential travel to states with laws that discriminate against lesbians, gays, bisexual, and transgender people.

Non-essential? Then why would they be traveling there in the first place? Why the frick is the state paying for non-essential travel?

I think a better idea would be for lawmakers to ban all state funded "non-essential" travel to ANYWHERE.

They will say, but you guys did it..so why can't we. If they do make such comparisons, does that mean they will be calling other Americans non vetted?

Honestly, reading this, it probably covers very little travel and it still allows for exemptions.

As far as Fresno St.-Bama, I assume Fresno State privately raised funds to provide travel and boarding for student athletes...just like the LSU AD relies on the TAF and in fact ends up giving surplus to the university.

Kentucky codified that student run groups at public schools and universities can refuse membership to students for religious reasons. Something the US Constitution refers to as "freedom of association" and California calls "trampling of human rights/pathway to camps".

Most of the others were gay adoption based.

I both believe California has the right to ban state employees from traveling to certain other states for state business and revel in the hypocrisy.

But at the same time they accept the raping and killing committed by illegal immigrants, which should be "trampling of human rights". Can't make it up.
