What could anybody have against this? Even left-wing loons should be on board with Buy American, Hire American.
Note: President Trump's speech begins at the 33:40 mark.

I'll buy American when the price is competitive and if it's of equal or better quality than it's competitor. I don't feel the need to buy it when it costs so much more than what I can get from another country.

Solely buying American supports less quality, higher prices.

I'll gladly pay a little more to keep Americans working.

I'll gladly pay a little less to keep my family in good shape financially. My family is more important to me than random Americans that I don't know.

I am already paying too much to keep some Americans from working.

OK, let me put on my NYT thinking hat:
"In his speech Trump touted vocational education. It's a poorly disguised shout out to racists. He believes that only white children should go to college. African Americans, Latinos and children of the poor should be relegated to huts where they learn manual labor to serve the rich and powerful."
How's that?

I'm sure Trump built all of that real-estate with American workers.
Construction and farming would collapse without illegals.
Sad but true.
Ask Alabama what happened to them when they deported all their immigrants in 03. Since then they have been trying to fix it.

Buying American is a bit misleading. Lots of foreign companies have manufacturing plants in this country that employ American workers. Lots of American companies have manufacturing plants in other countries too.

Remember when he said he was going to make the Pipeline buy American steel?
Another lie. That didn't happen.

Yep... companies like Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, and a plethora of others. They employ millions of Americans... but frick 'em, right?

American non-union workers. Meanwhile, Oregon based Nike makes all their stuff in some third world sweat shop. How American is that?

So don't buy anything with the Trump brand?
That's easy!
That's easy!

I work in the pipeline industry. I helped write a white paper on the effects the buy-American EO would have on our industry.
In a nutshell, projects would get pushed out a year or more and price of material (namely the pipe) would rise 3-fold. Most of the hot rolled coils used to make pipe comes from foreign suppliers (even if the pipe is rolled in the US, the material was not sourced domestically).
We estimated 70% of the dollars spent on a pipeline already goes directly into the pockets of Americans. The US industry just can't compete on price and quality at this point in the game. We'd love to be able to buy 100% domestic but it would make us uncompetitive and ultimately raise prices on the end consumer - if the projects were economically feasible at all.

He promised to use American Steel to revitalize the steel industries in OH and PA.
Another campaign promise lie?

It wasn't a lie. You're talking about the steel that was already on hand when Trump inquired about where the steel was being bought. Did you expect t them to just throw it away?
Why do you feel the need to lie in order to criticize Trump? You honestly can't find a valid criticism? I'm a Trump fan, and I could easily (and honestly) come up with a couple of criticisms.
But yet, you 100% anti-Trumpers continue to lie.

It's a free market. I'll buy from whoever I want to buy from. Give me the best value and quality and then you'll get my money.
Why do you hate the free market and capitalism? Mercantilism has never worked

So do the Trumps. The irony is glorious.
