Here's something you don't see every day... Number one becomes number two.

UPDATE: Based on what I've found, the title for #1 in the US has been held by Bud Light since 1989... a staggering 34 years... Not bad for a 'frat-bro' beer which was introduced only 7 years before. Until recently, it was the #3 beer brand world-wide.

Editorial note not in article: The good news is their borrowing power, based on ESG, must be out of the roof for bringing tranny-fluid to the market.

quote:

Bud Light has been dethroned as America’s most popular beer, according to consumer data obtained by CBS News.

Don't tell our progressives... They are certain this will blow over because conservatives don't boycott.

quote:

Modelo is a Pilsner-style Lager that was first produced in Mexico in 1925, according to its website.

Next up... Target losing market share to now defunt K-mart

Does AB own modelo?

In the US apparently AB does not own Modelo. Outside of the US it does.

Kind of surprising to me that Modelo is more popular that your Coors light, miller Lite markets.

Isn’t Modelo still AB? I like their commercials, but the beer is horrible.

Wait, you think we care about your Bud Light boycott, or any others for that matter?

Hell , keep boycotting Target too. It will keep the riff raft out of there.

Set aside the political issues surrounding Bud Light.

Negra Modelo is pretty good beer, but MODELO? Seriously?

Yeah... wish you didn't care enough to respond, then update afterward. And probably best now if you switch to an alter.

So that's why the southern border is open.

Good. frick all things America.

It’s perfect that we replace our most popular beer with a Mexican beer.

Wrong. It’s owned by ABInbev. They were sued in US court under Anti-Trust so in the US falls under Constellation Brands (an import company with separate distribution rights) But Modelo is actually owned by ABInbev.

Edited for a little more clarity: Constellation owns all rights for the US market. US profits go to them. ABInbev owns Groupo Modelo who owns Modelo. ABInbev gets the worldwide profit for everywhere but US.

Uhh, to each their own, but Modelo Especial w/ lime wedge is pretty damn good & I'm a beer snob. It’s far better than any other Mexican beer.

the lime is key. modelo is great.

i'm surprised it's bigger than coors light and miller lite though.

These idiots don't realize that AB owns both companies so they are still supporting pride month.

Probably helps the company out as they can write off a lot of taxes with the value lost
