The Times identified Ezra Cohen-Watnick of the National Security Council and Michael Ellis, a national security lawyer with the White House Counsel's Office, as the two officials that played a role.

The report did not make clear exactly what the pair did to assist Nunes.

DEVELOPING
NYT article up
quote:
Mr. Cohen-Watnick is a former Defense Intelligence Agency official who was originally brought to the White House by Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser. The officials said that this month, shortly after Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter about being wiretapped on the orders of President Barack Obama, Mr. Cohen-Watnick began reviewing highly classified reports detailing the intercepted communications of foreign officials.
Officials said the reports consisted primarily of ambassadors and other foreign officials talking about how they were trying to develop contacts within Mr. Trump’s family and inner circle in advance of his inauguration.
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the intelligence and to avoid angering Mr. Cohen-Watnick and Mr. Ellis. Officials say Mr. Cohen-Watnick has been reviewing the reports from his fourth-floor office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where the National Security Council is based.

they were guessing this the other day...
the media was citing Michael Ellis a few days ago. they are afraid they are reviewing the Presidential Daily Briefings of Obama...
So they are twisting the news like Nunes is getting his stuff from Trump.

Didn't they ask trump to provide evidence? I'm confused now. Trump makes a claim-its bad because he didn't have evidence. He gives evidence to appropriate party-it's bad because he shouldn't be the one to provide the evidence

Once again he beat the NYT to the punch

This is also the guy MacMaster wanted out at NSC, but Bannon and Kushner ran to Trump and saved.

It's interesting that the NYT article confirms that their source confirmed the material is not related to Russia

The hypocrisy here is hilarious.
After Trump made his "wiretap" tweet, the press was saying "Prove it or shut up" and "You're the president, you can present evidence at any time."
Now that Trump has produced evidence, they want to focus on who the sources were. They want to ignore the evidence he has presented.
Also, they have not reported ONCE on Evelyn Farkas and her MSNBC interview.

As most non-Trumpkins suspected Nunes was just doing CYA for the White House like the errand boy he is
