I took Russian in college, and the teacher was an actual Russian, from Russia!

I have a friend (actually more of an acquaintance in the Lion's Club) who married a mail order bride from Russia - then later divorced her. I have had conversations with both of them on more than one occasion which I have never previously reported - I cannot remember any details of a single one of those conversations, but I do now recognized the significance of allowing those events to occur and I took no precautionary measures to avoid damage to the United States of America, nor to give the government a heads-up on a potential security threat, thus delaying the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate the details of these conversations.
Does my voluntary admission to these potential traitorous crimes lessen the political and legal peril I might find myself in??
Are my political ambitions now destroyed?
How long must I dwell in the shadows before I can return to polite society?
