Game of thrones? You mean the show that has a midget, a dragon people race, sand people, giants, and kingdoms that are distinctly different from one another?
Lord of the rings? A movie that has elves, orcs, wizards, dwarves, and hobbits?
These people don't want diversity. They want black. That's all it means to them. You can have all the diversity in the world but if you don't shoehorn in a black character you're a racist.

reminds me of the criticisms over the medieval-set video game based around Polish history (i think the Watcher)
this general argument is just ignorant of the actual issue, and that issue is that there simply isn't a rich history of African cultures. that's not really based in racism as much as it's based in their lack of written history until the 18th or 19th centuries
also, countries like the US and Western Europe have their own histories and cultures and minorities (outside of some like certain Moorish/Arabic) simply were not that present and certainly didn't achieve that much of note within the cultures. this is why Asian stories and history, which were written down, aren't prominent in our culture
so to summarize, if we're talking about historical fictions
1. there simply isn't enough African history out there to consume
2. our histories will be dominated by our actual history, which is very white

the obsession with diversity has reached unbelievable levels of absurdity. I was actually thinking about this same thing a few days ago.
we have history movies ignoring basic realities of the time whether it be geographic demos or discriminatory laws.

what I find most interesting is it is ignorant of natural laws. without modern travel there is no diversity because you will see racial homogeny based on geography. these are the people that go around saying "climate change...it's like science, duh. gosh"
and also we see diversity defined to mean only race. I feel people are starting to roll their eyes at this shite whereas a couple of years ago this guy would've gotten a different reaction.
