July Ultimatum

Set off the chain of events that led to WWI. Overwhelming majority of the major world issues since then can be traced to this.

The US not nuking all the remaining adversarial powers in the world on August 10, 1945. We could have run this whole thing and everybody would be better off today.

Absent Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes holding back his cavalry at the Battle of Manzikert in 1071 or something bizarre like that, it is hard to imagine anything more stupid than than Hitler invading Russia.

Hitler was the savior of the German people. Germans of the day recalled the 4 year blood bath 1914-1918. Hitler had his army slice through the Frogs to decisive victory in 10 weeks. If he had done nothing else he would have had adulation and wealth galore. By that time, he had Poland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, the Balkans, the Low Countries and France. No way could the US and Great Britain hope to force him out of France less him sending 80% of his army into Russia.

Not a political mistake.

People appear to be confusing strategic military mistakes with political mistakes.

The 26th amendment.

I personally believe the voting age should be moved to 23. Or should not be given to full-time students. They have no real world experiences to base their beliefs on.

Either Darius backing down to Alexander at what is currently Istanbul, had Darius not lead the charge he plenty enough soldiers to have defeated Alexander and the Greeks over time and could've eventually conquered the know world.
Or the creation of Constantinople, it divided Rome in a manner in which the power structure was spread to thin and eventually lead to the downfall of the empire, oddly enough in the same exact place where Darius fled from Alexander!
As far as US History, the 19th amendment, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart!

Of course it was a poltical mistake! Politics has a huge unbrella, the decision that lead to the demise of a potential world empire certainly falls under that umbrella.

While I see where you are going with this, there were other taxes and issues the people of Boston had with the British Crown.

It was only a matter of time, similar to the Civil War, both were inevitable in their receptive political climates.
