I have no issue with questioning the source of news content, but this is a report on the press release from a congressional committee. Not independent, investigative journalism or commentary.
If you want to question sources - maybe ask yourself why the mainstream sources you are looking for haven’t reported on it?

Why are you replying to him as if he's a serious poster?
Just last month, Powerman made one of THE most incredibly stupid claims in the History of the board.
His "source" was an incredibly biased, Left-Wing, anti-Gun propaganda piece.
It took all of 5 minutes for myself and a couple of other posters to completely tear it apart.
He has no standing whatsoever to question a poster's sources...NONE....

Not just "before he was President" but when he was just a regular citizen who had not even decided to run for President? How is this even illegal?
But, the short answer to your question is, Congress is pretty much free to interpret "high crimes and misdemeanors" however it wants, so yes he could be impeached for it. Democratic Senstors would never convict, though.
FTR, I'm all for investigating these matters. If evidence of actual crimes is found, then screw impeachment, just convict him.
