Does anyone here truly believe the Bible? The world has us going to medicine for every little thing, but the Bible says we can pray our sickness out. Does anyone believe this?

James 5:14-15
King James Version
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

100% believe in it. Last year before Good Friday, my church asked us to submit prayer requests for their Good Friday service and walk. Dealing with a failing heart and only slight improvement over the previous year, I asked them to pray for my heart’s healing on behalf of my kids.

I shite you not, I went to my upcoming cardiologist appointment two weeks after Easter and was told the echo showed a big improvement, all the way up to the bottom end of normal thresholds. I legit went from almost needing a heart transplant to “normal” function. Sure, could’ve been a coincidence but I have faith and believe it was more.

I've noticed that people who go to doctors a lot, they stay sick all the time. That's why I stay away from doctors and feel pretty good.

Amen brother.

One of my church members was on his deathbed of cancer, about 86 years old. The church prayed for him and he shows up dancing for a couple more months before he finally let go. Strong faithful elder.

I believe the Bible whole-heartedly. I also believe that we must be careful with our interpretation of it.

The passage you are referencing was given within the context of the miraculous, apostolic gifts. Those gifts have ceased.

Now, we can pray for the sick, and God may be merciful to heal the sick person miraculously, but more often than not, our prayers should be both for the person's health as well as the work of the doctors and nurses that attend the sick, as God usually works through means.

When Jesus was asked about healing via belief...He said "let it be according to your faith". I think there are studies and documentation of stats which reflect the healing power of faith.

Re the Bible (Basic Concepts, notwithstanding all the questionable translations, metaphors, meanings, et al), I believe that the basic Idea that the 'physical' Universe is indeed a derivative of a Spiritual, Self-Aware 'Entity'. I.e., God; with all the baggage therein.

As Science becomes more knowledgeable, the basic essence of this 'perceived' Universe becomes more abstract, exponentially complex and incomprehensible by the day.

I also believe that the Biblical, Christian narrative of Jesus Christ as the Original Mold, Liaison, Guide and 'Savior' for our flawed (via our limitation) Humanity, is both logical, philosophically sound, and common sensical for those who have experienced Love to a great degree. Especially those who are loving and responsible Parents.

I also believe that ultimately, one becomes the product of one's EDUCATED CHOICE. God gave us the gift of our 'Self', it is up to us - as it should be - what our ultimate value and 'Self' will be. IMO, in life, we are perusing the 'buffet' of choice, in order to attain said education, in order to make that educated choice. In this scenario, 'perception becomes reality', and that is how different individuals can exist in totally different perceptive realities. Perception, being based on belief.

To each their own. Though, as those who choose the opposite of Love (extreme Narcissism/Self Worship) they will not rest easy if able to observe those who have chosen Love and enjoy the rewards therein. Enter, Satan, and the power of Evil. As long as there are 'Individuals', there will be 'Evil'. Envy rules. Cain v Abel.

And, I too have experience 'miraculous' events. All questionable by skeptics of course. Albeit, the Bible says that miracles are not for unbelievers, but believers.

God speed.

You think God can’t work through the biological processes he created?

The Bible is a collection of books written by different authors to different audiences. Pulling one or two verses and making a definitive statement from almost always leads in error.

In those two verses are they talking about moral sickness or physical sickness?

There are doctors mentioned in the Old Testament.

I believe it 100%. I disagree with FooManChoo and I believe the gifts are alive and well today. I believe Jesus' return is imminent, and we are in the last days. It says He will pour His Spirit out on all flesh in the last days. It says children will prophesy, men will have visions, and old men dream dreams. I also disbelieve in the therapists, psychologists, and pharmacists who proclaim otherwise. My bible says it is so, and I believe that over any individual who does not believe in the same book as me.
