This is the debate I've been anticipating for some time. Seeing both of them eviscerate Cenk just makes you want to skip the middle man that is Cenk, who has at least 30 IQ points less than them, and have a face to face actual debate. I do think these are the two greatest arguers that I have heard that are currently alive (although Larry Elder I think can also compete with them). The date isn't set, but it's coming up. It should be a fantastic discussion between the two of them since I haven't seen anyone (save for Christopher Hitchens with Harris) be able to debate them and win.

And for those wanting the source, It's at the 15:00 mark here: LINK

All he said was "near future" so I'm guessing sometime within the month.

I like Sam Harris, although I'm not a fan of how he answers questions at times and seems to belittle people who he deems below him.

At the same time, watching him on Bill Maher embarrass Ben Affleck was hilarious.

He is also at the forefront of the fight against Islam, which I am very sympathetic of.

Then he and Shapiro should get along just fine then, because he is certainly also guilty of this.

Should be interesting and I think they'll actually agree on a lot.

They're on 2 different levels, though. I don't think Shapiro is schooled in the philosophy department like Harris is.

Their main disagreements will revolve around abortion, God, free-will, etc...

At his admission, Ben is well-read on Mr. Harris, and I'm sure the opposite holds true as well.

Harris is also 20 years older than Shapiro and has been in the sphere longer. But I do think Shapiro has a better understanding in law and public policy than Harris does. Shapiro is also well read on Harris, so Harris will have to prepare accordingly when debating him.

True. The public policy debate should be good. Both are very principled on their views of govt responsibility

Ben continues to gain more and broader exposure. I saw him on CNN two nights ago and the UC event was well publicized as well. He is someone I hope can become a true spokesperson for conservatism because he is eloquent, well reasoned, and quick on his feet with any opposition.

Think so? I heard him make a comment or two regarding Free Will that would lead me to believe otherwise.

I don’t think it will be a podcast though, because Shapiro has said numerous time he refuses to do tapes interviews because they can be edited to make someone look like a “winner” in a back-and-forth exchange, when the unedited tape would tell a completely different story.

Harris doesn't do that shite though. I can't think of anyone remotely accusing him of doing such. He's built up a reputation to where Shapiro can feel comfortable doing a recorded interview with him. The way Harris is pissed about Cenk continuing to take him out of context after that 3 hour rape he gave him I think shows this. Shapiro specifically said he was appearing on his podcast.

I just think he disagrees with him, which is what I think we'll get into.

I know. I was saying to the other guy that his media exposure isn't something new.

This video is what I'm referring to. Maybe he described it poorly, but in no way does Harris assume free will... exactly the opposite, actually.
