Mueller should have never been appointed. He has a clear conflict of interest being the former boss of Comey and someone Comey considers a personal friend.

I saw that post on Reddit too.

US v Johnson

This quote is especially interesting:

quote:

the obstruction of justice goes to the threats, the intimidation, and specifically the threat against the witness John Twiggs where he was seen in a car with officer Lamar and later Mr. Johnson told him to the effect that I hope you aren't doing what I think your doing because that's unhealthy . . . I think anybody in their ordinary meaning of that would take that as a threat.

The President cannot obstruct justice by telling the FBI director to drop an investigation. Why? He is the FBI director's boss. Alan Dershowitz says that even if Trump told Comey "You will drop this investigation today, you got that?" it still is not obstruction. I will let Dershowitz explain:

Were any of those the President?

You are truly stupid. How many fricking times do you have to have this explained to you.

The President can lawfully call the Director of the FBI "hey is that case closed yet? No? I told you to close it, why didnt you? Oh okay, you're fired"

that is fricking legal, and does NOT fit the legal definition of obstruction of justice.

Now, Congress may very well decide that that warrants impeachment, because they are not bound by you know the law, but that will have NOTHING to do with the Special Counsel, he will only be looking at CRIMINAL activity.

Comey testified on May 3rd, while he was still employed, "Nobody has ever asked me to drop an investigation. Not to my recollection."

Today: "While 'I hope you consider...' is not a direct order, I took it as an order to drop the investigation."

Dude is clearly contradicting himself. Why isn't this perjury.

Because of the specific question he was answering that was omitted from the first quote.

Because Senate Republicans asked shitty questions (except for Marco). Not one of them brought his previous testimony up even though everyone in the press had been talking about it.

Hope that DU copypasta cheers you up.

Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with anything regarding Comey and Trump.

In regards to the DOJ. Trump's name or "the president" were never mentioned in the question he answered. That's why he didn't perjure himself today.

Good debate. Various scholars are in disagreement.

Because he spoke in lawyer speak with very carefully chosen words.

If pressed he would claim that the first time around he was asked if anyone just came right out and asked him to drop a case, but today he was merely saying that it was his feeling that though he didn't come right out and ask, Trump was making a request.

That's enough of a difference to make it not perjury, and not coincidentally a perfect example of what I was saying earlier about never talk to a federal agent without an attorney, because those kinds of things can be used to trip you up if you don't understand the lingo

I'm not asking for your explanations because you, like most people on here, aren't qualified to give a legal explanation on the topic. There are plenty of people who are qualified who disagree with you.

Did you read the cases? They all cite 18 usca 1505 as the obstruction code violated. FBI investigations aren't included under 1505. Keep trying.
