Not at all. Anyone breaking into a house knows what they are doing and what they are putting at risk. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Dude you must be getting all light headed and shite from blowing on your tuba so much...any a-hole breaks into my house is going to get smoked if I can get the shot off and he damn well knows he deserves what he gets...

On far fewer occasions the homeowner is home & surprises/gets the drop on the burglar..

And, that is the perfect, indisputable reason to have a gun in the home. It doesn't matter how infrequently you think it happens when you're the one it happens to.

Wait, did you just say in most cases the homeowners aren't home so then the burglar steals the guns and shoots the homeowners?

I think 99.9% of people feel a reasonable chance of physical threat to themselves when someone breaks into their house while they are there.

Yep. Missed that. I totally read "then".

And it's funny too because I have a cousin who drives me INSANE on facebook because I swear to God, she NEVER uses the word "then". She ONLY uses the word than. I'm convinced she doesn't know the word "then" exists.

Has this area changed over the past few decades?
Growing up in BR this was the "rich kids" subdivision.

It's a little darker than when I lived and attended school there but it's still a good area to live in. It's not Belaire, yet.
