huge new research study has proved what everybody suspected all along – the left can’t meme.
The study, undertaken by researchers at University College London, found that the most effective memes largely originated in two places – the subreddit r/the_donald – a forum devoted to boosting President Donald Trump, and 4chan’s politically incorrect /pol forum.
A VICE write-up of the study acknowledges that the most “effectively spread” memes originated on r/the_donald and /pol.

They lack the single most important quality when memeing. A sense of humor

Memetics describes how an idea can propagate successfully, but doesn't necessarily imply a concept is factual.

Analogous to a gene, the meme was conceived as a "unit of culture" (an idea, belief, pattern of behaviour, etc.) which is "hosted" in the minds of one or more individuals, and which can reproduce itself in the sense of jumping from the mind of one person to the mind of another.

Thus what would otherwise be regarded as one individual influencing another to adopt a belief is seen as an idea-replicator reproducing itself in a new host.

Tl:dr memes are programmed thought that jump from one host to another and spread shockingly well among coatwearers/poltards.

Thats why the npc meme is so amazing.

For the 100th time, using the rights memes as insults against them is just soy speak confirming you have no original thoughts of your own.

How do they determine the effectiveness of a meme? Is there a Meme Council?

Eh, its using underground pop culture and typical youthful rebellious behavior against the same party that used to embrace it. It's fun to be bad but the left has never had it turned against them

No I see it. The right definitely has NPC like responses. However, responding to the NPC memes with the insults “You are NPC” proves two things

1) The left cant meme
2) You’re a computer programmed android without an original thought

Oh I think it's pretty damn hilarious on multiple levels. Far left activists who are obsessed with being nice/humanitarian issues.. trying to trade insults on a medium created by far right activists.. oof
