Judging by the amount of buzz I see about her constantly on this board and all over the internet, it's amazing to me that her ratings are bad. She's one of the most famous people in the world right now.
Imagine if a rumor got started that she had a lesbian affair. Her ratings would sky-rocket because everybody loves Lipstick Lesbians.

She was once a persuasive voice of the right. I think NBC got their money's worth in simply cutting her out of that role, or at least, helping her to do so.
And I have no doubt that the Fox "scandals" that occurred after she left were her doing, so NBC got that bonus as well.
