What I learned about Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson after spending a week on jury duty with him
quote:
Nine years ago, I showed up to the Denton County Courthouse for jury duty and got myself picked for the job. A young girl had accused her mom's boyfriend of sexual assault, and the case was being brought to trial.
quote:
The trial concluded, and it was time for the jury to deliberate. The story was heartbreaking, and the facts of the case were clear enough to make the majority of the jury convinced of the guilt of this sexual offender of a little girl. But the defense did a good enough job to create a couple of hold-outs. As our deliberations came to a close, it appeared we might have a hung jury.
That's when Tillerson began to speak. Humbly, delicately and without an ounce of condescension toward those who disagreed, he began walking us all through the details of the case. I even recall being moved by his thorough explanation about the nature of doubt and the standards set forth by our justice system.
quote:
I know that a scared little girl who was finally persuaded to come public with her account of abuse was inches away from a decision that would have sided with her abuser, yet this man put his negotiation skills to a noble use, and justice was served.

While Tillerson was an atypical choice for the job, he seems to have been one of the best choices Trump has made for his cabinet.
This article seems to confirm the principles of the man that he has displayed while on the job.
Good stuff.

The fact he didn't run from jury duty is impressive.

He, Nikki Haley, and Jim Mattis have been terrific.

I wonder where he lived in Denton County. The lake blocks off the closest part from Las Colinas.

Tillerson accepting Trump's call to Duty says a lot about what Tillerson thinks of Trump too.
Wonder if he'd have worked for Hillary or Obama; takes a 'special' person to jump into that mire.

Tillerson will be way too old, IMO. I don't want anyone to begin their presidency in the 70s.

I'd rather have a 75 year old with character and leadership than a 50 year old mouthpiece with a puppet string stapled to their a-hole.

I actually thought he was a great choice for sec of state. One of two excellent choices Trump made for his cabinet.

You have to realize then, nobody but Trump was going to appoint someone that outside the box for such a position.
In other words, why not sit back and see how this all plays out?

According to Wikipedia he lives in Bartonville on a ranch previously owned by Charles Wyly.

Exactly, It just so happened that Obama's two Secretaries of State were the last two Democratic loser's of the Presidency.
